this is definately a fanboy thread trying to get cotto some props due to his recent shortcomings, but il have to admitt even though he is one of the mostt overrated fighters based on skill and accomplishment, he is a really humble guy who is willing to fight anyone and doesnt talk much smack, which are admirable characteristics.

He is humble, and he fights the best. End of story.

I find him very easy to hate.
He's world-class talent, but he's still picked up journeymen and thrown them down.
Hell, against Peanut Head, he even stepped on him while down.
He's a pinpoint accurate body puncher, but lowblows whenever he's bored with the fight.

Cotto's "private and reserved" the way Morales was. There's some darkness behind those eyes... even when he's scared. Watch them sometime, between faps; Margo had him beat in round 2 - it's not heart if you've resigned yourself to losing.

He's exciting, he's humble, he works hard and puts on good fights.

Also, if you respect body punching, he is great to watch for tearing a torso apart.

Can't argue with the low blows.
Can't argue with the dirty tactics.

And most of all, his fans paint him to be some warrior, but makes excuses of why he shouldn't have fought a guy who's been begging to whip his ass for three years.

He's such a wholesome guy so they always excuse the dirty **** as "part of the game" whenever he does it. He's extremely overrated as some guy who'll rip your body in half, but against Margo, Clottey and Pac.. I didn't see any of it.

And for the person who says he doesn't retreat?????

    Round 7-12 vs. Clottey.
    Round 4-12 vs. Pac.
    Round 1-12 vs. Margo.

in my mind cotto only has one loss and that is to pacman. His heart and determination gave him the win in my mind against Clottey, he won against mosley, judah. In boxing it don't get much better than the heart of cotto.
