to be accepted as the real deal, broner needs to do the following

    - show he can take a punch

    - show he can fight in adversity

    - show he can adapt when plan A isn't working

    - show he can fight on foreign soil without folding like a lawn chair

    - show he doesn't have a glass heart

america seems to produce many of these flashy fighters like roy jones, jermain taylor, zab judah, chad dawson etc, but they all seem to falter badly in the glass heart category and fold like lawn chairs when faced with adversity.

He needs to just keep on winning...You cant get everyone to like you..Thats a given.

Just win and he'll gain some fans and also gain haters.

He just needs to be consistent as he moves up the ranks. The foundation is there... he's got a skill set that has the potential to give him longevity in this sport. He just needs to be brought along progressively.... Not rushed by his team. I'm impressed with his composure at only 22... I'm impressed with his skills and ability to adjust in the ring.

So the foundation is solid but what we don't know yet is how he copes with the upper echelon of fighters.... Ponce gave him all he could handle but he pulled out the "W" against a very good vet. He's got a lot of potential but still needs to build up his experience and resume before he leaps into the elite level opposition that will answer all the questions about what this kid is made of.

I know it hasn't been tested yet, but what do you think of his chin? His got a real short and stocky neck and his chin doesn't seem extra fragile. :think

I hate to make assumptions on somebody's chin just based off appearance, but he seems solid for now

For Broner to be considered the real deal, he has to keep winning and beat quality opposition along the way. Some people will never give him any credit regardless of what he does, because he's black, but he shouldn't even worry about them anyway.

Broner is what the sport is crying out for, a talented guy with character & cross-over appeal.

i'm told the chincheckers are busy conducting punch resistance tests on broners chin in their laboratories bballchump so i'm waiting for they're official verdict :think

one things for sure, broner still has it all to prove. he seems to have some money mayweather skills but thats only half the ticket, does broner possess money's iron jaw, ability to adapt, and ability to fight in adversity? that is where the likes of roy jones, judah, taylor, and dawson fall well short of mayweather :deal

I'm looking forward to the release of these scientific results to the world :thumbsup
I feel you though. I'm still waiting a bit on Broner. He has really good composure, but he's a little too patient and he's able to get away with it because of his power and accuracy. I want to see what happens when an iron jaw comes at him or a fighter with a good workrate and defense

I dont what planet some of these posters is on but the young man is already accepted in the genuine article catagory by the people that count. Check this out, there were two fights that night and he wasnt the headliner. The main event was an excellent battle, yet the main conversation is about Broner. He is a motivating force in boxing and that nor his march to stardom can be denied.:bbb
