The only thing I'd disagree with is the double left hook. I don't think Margarito will be on the front foot as much as he was against Clottey. His ankle isn't sprained this time. If Margarito is on the backfoot a little more, Cotto will be taking a big risk doubling the left hook. He may get cracked with an uppercut for his trouble.
Margarito needs to start early. I can see him being a little to over anxious early on since its his first big event. He cannot let the event get to his head. Cotto has already been here. The pressure is on Margarito.
Wasn't it you that told me I was and idiot for suggesting that Cotto needed to get inside just a few months ago?
I doubt thats what I told you. Considering Cotto can't fight Margarito on the outside. He's gonna have to come inside sometime.
Margarito must throw punches perpetually through out the whole fight.. He can't stop throwing punches and can't get tired. He can't slow down either because I've seen him stop or slow down and Cotto wont give him a break if he does. Margarito wil have to throw a tremendous amount of jabs on the outside and Upper cuts on the inside to even make Cotto consider respecting him. Cotto just has to be Cotto and raise his work rate which I think he can do... Theres a lot Margarito will have to do to be a challenge to Cotto, Cotto will just be himself and can win this fight.
Must have been that idiot with the Tyson avatar. Can't remember his name. Anyways, good assessment Ambition.
Cotto switch stance once in a while jab dont stop jabbing left hook whem margo tries an uppercut basically pick his spots and counter margo's mistakes get inside every once in a while not too often but just enough Margarito start early pressure hope Cotto gets tired later try to straightne out punches
Rightnow . . . I haven't made my FINAL PICK . . . but I'm leaning on Cotto. . . . both will have to survives each other's power punches in the first half of the fight. Both are capable of throwing powerful head and body punches. . . . both will have to have the stamina to go on for 12 rounds. . . . who ever gets hurt first . . . loses the fight. :yep I'm waiting for the weigh in and final staredown before I make my final pick. :good
Definitely has to box more often and that's what I believe he will do. Margo can't outbox Cotto and Cotto knows this and will use this to his advantage.
I agree that who ever gets hurt first more than likely loses the fight, but both guys are also known to be able to hold up when they get hurt so who knows, I mean they do say a hurt fighter is a dangerous fighter, if Tony hurts Cotto and goes balls out he could get clipped, and same with Miguel if he hurts Tony and guns for it he could as well. Let me ask you this, What is it in a stare down that makes you feel more confident in your prediction? Seriously from a actual Boxing and Boxers perspective that means nothing, I mean ****, people stare down other people all the time that doesnt mean one fighter beats the other.
I know that means **** . . . I just need to make a final assesment on who looks more ready to receive more punishments. It's not easy for me . . . because I really like both fighters. I'm a big fan of both. And like I said . . . rightnow I'm leaning on Cotto . . . as Roach stated . . . because he was more consistent in his performances but I couldn't write off Marg yet . . . they are both capable. :hooters
its a tough call to make at first I was leaning Towards Cotto But there are some things I hear in my gym regarding Tonys sparring and he has been sparring with someone who is at our Gym, I aint trying to burst no bubbles but Tony is ready
