There has been some transformation from Ricky Burns since he scrapped that win over Kevin O'Hara a few years ago, never in a million years did I think he would go on to achieve what he has, top class and kudos to you Billy, you've done an amazing job, Burns conditioning and fitness alone is world class.

What would the "real" Kevin Mitchell do differently? Is this a move on from a "well-prepared" Kevin Mitchell?

I agree, Demarco is the perfect opponent. Very winnable fight and very likely to be an entertaining scrap. I think we need to remember two things here, 1) Ricky won by the skin of his teeth tonight, he could do with a named opponent to look good against and get his confidence back / remove doubts in his mind before going for a unification, and 2) Gonzalez won't happen in September if he's broke his wrist, he won't be ready for then so the rematch is an irrelevant discussion at this stage.

I can't wait to see this Kevin Mitchell, since I've never seen him in any of his other fights. Especially when he faces a better opponent. It's like he's shy.

Your right mate I shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush but Ricky's win was far to convincing to consider a rematch

Can't be bothered to check through all your posts but have you admitted Burns was utterly outclassed last night from a purely boxing perspective?

The Kevin Mitchell comment was obviously a joke!

The Broner fight won't happen as I can't see him moving back to lightweight now, Burns should maybe look to move to 140, thought he looked drained, in any case after watching that again this morning, Broner would KO Ricky.

Best thing for Ricky would be a unification fight with Vasquez but I can see Hearn making the fight with Rees for his next fight.

Shame that fights aren't won or lost on a purely boxing perspective.
