AJ didn't start trying against Jake Paul until round 5. We saw what happened once he started trying. Demolition.

Because a KO rate isn't overrated because a champion had weak title defenses. This stat doesn't assume a fighter was a champion at all. The level of opponents should matter if hes knocking out .500ish fighters and all his fights with elites are going to decisions. Over 30 of Wilders KOs were over .500 most far above that. They weren't "paraplegics".

Ortiz has about a dozen wins at or above the level of David Allen. David Allen is the only guy Ortiz beat whose still relevant today because most of Ortiz's wins were before the pandemic. So Allens going to shine brighter then someone like him from 2015.

Ortiz is one of the most avoided fighters in an era where everyones avoiding each other. Ortiz can't get top 100 opponents at 47 years of age. No one wants to risk losing to him. There is no hard proof Ortiz wasn't the best HW in the world in 2014,2015,2016 or even 2017. The difference between his WBA interim title, Wilder WBC title and Joshuas IBF title in 2016 really came down to politics.

 

There is no proof he was, lol. You don't prove the negation.

Ortiz was as avoided as Bakole was, so he wasn't avoided at all. And he ruined his career prospects himself, by getting caught on PEDs. Bakole ruined his career by eating.

I’m not sure of that. It was round 6 of an 8 round fight. AJ *needed* a KO or it would be a huge embarrassment. He had him in perfect position, hands down, lined up, knew he could end it right then. I think the double broken jaw indicates AJ threw that one full force. And Jake staying conscious just proves he’s got a good chin (nothing crazy about that, plenty of mediocre boxers have good chins).
