What can you expect this has become the standard in boxing in the present. One loss and you're done = no unification.

Lets play the blame game and we can point the finger at promoters/ a gullible sports media and to an extent us "fans" for buying into this BS.

I'm not at all shocked at Bradley's current behavior = norm in modern boxing, sadly.

Not entirely true. He is guaranteed 1.2 million which is still less than the 1.8 he was going to make against Khan. Another thing, he just can't fight any bum off the street and get the HBO money. He has to choose from the 2-3 fighters mentioned in the contract to be eligible for that guarantee. I forget the names now but a quick google search would do the trick.

Finally, if a unified champ holding 2 belts doesn't believe he can beat another guy than there is something seriously wrong with him. Thats not the mentality of true champs.

Because after he beats that mandatory bum for 1.2 mill or whatever he's gauranteed, HBO won't pay him ****. His fight with Alexander was crap, only 5000 turned up and there not much interest in general. Beating Khan turns him into an instant star and he becomes the top contender for a Pac/Mayweather fight and he's pretty much gauranteed multiple million dollar purses.

Bradley is trying to "pull a Haye" (i.e. stall/ make himself media bad guy) to further promote the little known Tim Bradley name to increase future purse potential :huh

He will beat a mandatory guy and take that 1.2 Million and right after Manny destroys Marquez, Bob Arum will announce Pac vs Bradley ( IF Floyd wont accept an offer to finally fight Manny)

There is no other way. Manny has nobody left to fight, Floyd doesnt want to fight him, Berto got exposed, Floyd took Ortiz, Cintron got exposed, Judah got his ass whooped, PWill is shot!

As long as he fights Khan down the road, I won't mind.

His big problem is Gary did a pretty shitty job as a promoter for him. He could have been a bigger name by now. He ALMOST had it when he had a fight lined up with Maidana that fell through (and in all interviews he seemed excited about it when it was signed before it fell through and he had to fight Abregu instead).

I remember posts on here from a year or so back "oh, he's ducking Alexander" "he's scared of Alexander" when he insisted that he felt the fight was premature (and in one interview on youtube near the time of the fight he seemed annoyed talking about the ticket sales and brought up that he felt it was too soon). So he decides to fight Alexander, and what does Gary Shaw and Don King do? Nothing. They just take their site fee in Detroit and do an extremely lackluster job promoting the fight because they already have their money.

I think he just wants to grow under Top Rank a little who, in spite of the annoying things Bob Arum can do, is actually very good at developing and marketing talent before taking on Khan, so that if he does lose he still has a name to fall back on to leverage a better purse in the future.

I really don't like this attitude from Bradley. I was a big fan of his, but he's slowing losing favor.

His hunger is gone and now has the mentality of an entitled fighter. He think he deserves something without actually earning it and you can't earn respect by sitting around and do nothing.

He's afraid of losing to Khan, plain and simple. He's afraid to lose his 0. Even if he lose, he'd probably get a rematch anyway, which would make him millions more. And losing does not mean the end, it usually means it's just the beginning when you're still young. Look at Khan...he got KO'ed and now he's on the top of the 140 division.

It's too bad Bradley is too blind to see it.

Shaw got him the Khan fight. It's the fight which would've given him the opportunity to become a star infront of a global audience. He would be getting a career high payday. Bradley was recognised as the best at 140 and was paid a million for the Alexander fight which no-one outside of boxing circles cared about, and was more than he was worth. He would have a name to fall back on assuming he didn't get blasted out of the water by Khan. Khan fight was the natural progression and he would be getting even more money and a chance to multiply his market worth. Shaw did his job. Khan was the fight Bradley wanted all along, then he just changed his mind all of a sudden when he got concerned with how Alexander was fighting Matthysse for over $1million having lost to him, which was HBO;s doing, and he wanted Shaw to offer him an easier option too. Just ridiculous how it panned out.

    Why risk a loss?

Because you call yourself champion. And relating it to my business and career, the way you make most money is by being the best, and looking for opportunities to prove it.

Im gonna show some ignorance here but what exactly do boxing councils do? If I ran one and my belt holder said this I would strip the belt of them. These councils dont do enough to justify themselves.....its hard to see what the do at all. Anyone?

And Jupiter's relatively tiny moons are proportionately close in size to Bradley's balls.
