Abraham isn't a slick fighter like Ward or Dirrell, but he doesn't have too when he has that coconut defense where he covers up like Winky so jabbing or any straight punches aren't going to land except on his arms and gloves. Dirells only chance would be to land around that guard and have a solid body attack. Would be nice if Dirrell can pull it off (USA, USA!), but the thing is AA isn't as limited as Froch is and punches much harder. I think AA has better chances of stopping Dirrell, but I think it's safe to say AA will win on a UD or SD.
You're in for a treat. Abraham will be easy work. He's no ****ing mystery people. It will honestly take no time at all for Dirrell to figure out the one dimensional and painfully predictable Abraham. Everytime AA opens up late in the round he will pay and pay dearly over the course of the fight.
After chatting with him abit yesterday he mentioned how his camp has been awesome(typical ****) I asked him if he planned on changing anything anything from the Froch fight? He responded " I was too nervous in that fight" and "I didn't make him pay for all of his mistakes".
He would'nt say much about AA. It's not rocket science though. AA sparring with Ottke to prepare for Dirrell? Really? Good. Luck.
Oh C'mon! That's a relatively mild comment and no more assuming then the title of this thread "what rnd will Dirrell stop Abraham" It's the same type of comment just coming from the other corner. lighten up
I wasn't that impressed with Dirrell's performance in his loss to Froch. He did a lot of running and looked "rubbery" (for lack of a better term) to me. I see Dirrell doing the same thing against Abraham. Circling, running and avoiding going toe to toe. I see Abraham as the stalker and catching Dirrell in the late rnds with a KO.
Dirrell stops Abraham, alright... ...on cuts. If and only if the ref misses a butt and mistakenly rules it from a punch. :deal
When Abraham emerges from his Hermit shell, he will be punished. People talking about Abraham stalking Dirrell. Give me a ****ing break. AA throws 25 punches a round. Unless AD is careless, he aint getting caught with those - and should be able to counter effectively, with his underrated power and proven speed. Although I think the smart money is on AD by decision, I can definitely see a scenario where a frustrated Abraham has to open up more and more as the fight drags on, and when he leaves that shell, he will not win the exchanges. Over time the punishment will add up, and he could be thoroughly exposed by rounds 9-11, in similar fashion as Kessler was vs Ward.
Really? People still think Dirrell's on Ward's level? It's been pretty clearly illustrated by now which Andre is the truth. The one that utterly stymied the far superior first round draw. Abraham is an accurate economical puncher. We're not talking about Victor Oganov here. If Dirrell's power and speed are underrated (which notion can certainly be entertained), what do you call Abraham's defense and chin? Arthur is not the one getting hurt here. He will find Dirrell - he has 12 rounds and every negative tactic in the book can't hold him off forever, especially as he's much smarter than Froch in addition to being a better boxer.
