Floyd has only ever gotten clipped when trading; he wouldn't trade with GGG. I envision a fight in which a frustrated GGG spends the night pounding his short arms against his own chest, showing everyone how big and strong he is while Floyd takes the rounds.

Exactly! And afterwards people are claiming pbf ran but in reality he put on a clinic. Ggg will have an extremely hard time finding pbf regularly whereas pbf would still find him. Lastly the last time I checked you don't have to hurt anyone to win a boxing match.

GGG is a really respectful, humble and likable guy. Look at how many fighters who know him or have been in camp with him all like him. He's always offering them advice and trying to help them improve

Floyd did have that ability - maybe the best to ever do that particular skill - at 147 and below. Floyd was hit plenty by DLH and Cotto at 154 although hardly touched versus Canelo at 152.

Versus GGG, Floyd would be in trouble. GGG was not near retirement as was the case w DLH. Hell I'm not even sure Floyd beats prime DLH at 147. Cotto was also wayyyyy down on backside of career when Floyd fought him...and Cotto busted Floyd up a few times.

Were old and shot DLH and Cotto as fast as prime Mosley? Nope. They were also slower than 38 year Mosley, but they still landed. Because, this may be news to you, speed isnt the only factor in landing a punch....surprise.

BTW GGG has far more power than anyone Floyd fought. Floyd was a master and be in any fight he took...from 130-147. He would lose to a lot at 154 because he just isnt effective there.

A 38 year old Shane was way faster 3x than ggg, who would be the slowest fighters pbf fought since baldo and pbf would be the fastest ggg ever fought by far. But more importantly than that is the extreme reflex advantage that ggg would have to deal with.

You say pbf isn't effective there but he won every fight above WW and looked good doing it. What you fail to mention is that we don't know how effective ggg would be there because we've never seen him fight at that weight. I'm sorry but I'm going off a known commodity with a track record than simply wishful thinking on a lesser fighter like many here are doing.

I realize there's more than speed to landing a punch timing the ability to find the range accuracy and pbf is better than that than ggg is.

I actually wrote most of my first post in this thread today before I went to bed yesterday but I was just too tired to finish it after having only 2 hours 45 mins sleep the night before. But many of the things I said in it you also said in your great post #152 and of course, for the millionth time we are both right and this would be proven beyond doubt if the gods could wave their magic wands and travel back in time to make GGG vs Floyd happen.

Of all the things I find perplexing on Boxing Forums and there are many, especially from all of the supposed sweet science Mayweather fanboys, its this highly inaccurate perception that bothers me the most. That somehow fighters from Eastern Europe are all lead footed lumbering Frankenstein's Monsters who plod headlong into the fists of far more capable highly skilled fighters and their only saving grace is their immense power that they overwhelm their opponent with usually leading to the inevitable stoppage, which is frequently used to discredit them, because after all, "they didn't outbox anybody, they relied on their power." Ironically, this is the case with the Charlo sisters, Davis and even Crawford lately, yet conveniently, no one seems to notice. Back to GGG, that perception couldn't be further from the truth, the reality is many of the fighters from Eastern Europe are some of the most skilled high caliber fighters to grace the squared circle in recent memory. There's a fallacy that many people seem to believe, its that only defensively minded fighters are somehow the true sweet scientists of the sport, and that hit and not get hit is of the utmost importance. But that's simply not the case, offensively minded fighters can be every bit as skilled as the hit and not get hit crowd, it's only their detractors that don't seem to recognize these qualities in aggressive destroyer type fighters. Well that makes me wonder how deep their understanding of the sweet science really goes.

It's a common occurrence with many fans, they either can't see or refuse to acknowledge the proof that should be very apparent to them if they would just open their eyes and be willing to look. Many come forward fighters have been decried over the years for their perceived lack of skills like Inoue, Pacquiao, Morales, Lomachenko, Kovalev, Calzaghe, Froch, Mike Tyson you get the idea. Seemingly missing their footwork, use of the jab, ability to slip punches in close by bobbing, weaving, blocking and parrying, counters, combinations, accuracy, stance, balance, control of range and distance. All that **** they've got down to a science... a sweet science. They only do it coming forward, which is in some ways, far more difficult to accomplish than it is constantly retreating.

And guess what? Gennady Golovkin has an overabundance of those skills and is an elite level fighter of the highest order and only someone who doesn't comprehend the sweet science as good as they think they can, can't see this. Here let me explain it to you. Skill wise as an offensive fighter he's more well rounded and complex than most so-called defensive geniuses. Just like many proclaim that fans miss the subtleties of great defensive fighters and therefore "DKSAB" well the same argument can apply to them. Gennady's defense is top tier, his slight subtle head movements just enough to roll with punches or slip them in close, his blocking, his parrying all usually while coming forward is similar to Chocolatito and Toney, add in his just stepping out of range when his opponents shots are coming in, the reality is it's a hell of a lot harder to hit GGG clean that most seem to think it is. Why? Because he controls range just as well as Mayweather, with the added power as a ferocious deterrent. Canelo even against the old GGG in their third fight, wasn't willing to take many risks. His footwork is as close to brilliant as you can get, he never chases or follows, he's constantly moving laterally with them when his opponent are trying to run, stepping right in their way never allowing them to find an escape route, always staring right into his opponents eyes to further intimidate and discombobulate them, while applying immense pressure and when they go to the right he goes to the right and vice versa they eventually they start feeling like a rat in a cage and feel trapped and become paranoid and confused so they make mistakes that he capitalizes on almost immediately, eventually he gets them right where he wants them, which is either in the corner or along the ropes where he usually ends up stopping them. And I hate to break to all of the people who think slick fighters gave him issues, because he's feasted on them with the greatest of ease, so no.... even Mayweather would not be able to get away from GGG, his footwork is that amazing. He is the definition of an effective aggressor.

GGG is also a very skilled counter puncher he easily parries his opponents jab with right hand while shooting out his own counter left jab connecting with them as they come in, while they miss him entirely and therefore enhancing the impact of his counter sometimes with devastating effects, also with his left he blocks their rights and shoots out his counter uppercuts and he does this repeatedly and many fans seem to miss this sly technique, and for some reason think he's easy to hit, maybe it's their eyes that are deceiving them. He's amazing at setting these traps and often his opponents seem to never catch on either. Then also he's brilliant at the art of shifting which is essentially gaining power by transferring weight on his feet, while moving in and out at the same time as he's throwing a punch, basically it's the ability to sit down on your punches while in close or while inside fighting therefore maximizing the impact of the punch, which he's great at. Think about that, he never has to set his feet to get his punches off. Which like Maidana and Castillo, only far more effective, would make him a nightmare opponent for Featherfisted Floyd. Then add to this his amazing accuracy, and his incredibly educated brutal stiff jab which he utilizes with great effectiveness which he uses to set up his even more brutal power punches, his brilliant punch placement, innovative use of angles and punch selection and his general mastery of most types of punches, his brutal twisting knuckle punch hooks to the ribs are horrifying. That Philly shell will not protect Floyd from one of GGG's looping over the top hammerfist bolo punch to top of the head. He's already decoded that without even facing him.

Then there are the other intangibles like his cast iron chin which is a great asset to possess in spite of the fact he doesn't rely on it as much as people think, since opponents so rarely land flush on him. And of course his most valuable asset which is his immense power which opponents no matter their skill level they can never seem to smother, slip or block enough to fully get away from, his shots always get through their guards of course they're being set up by his tapping decoy hooks and jabs up top of to the body allowing him ease of access to their head and chin when they reflexively try to protect the exposed areas opening the intended target up for a flush shot that does maximum damage. In many ways GGG is a terrorist in the ring, his presence, his pressure, his eye contact, his power and his reputation all terrify opponents and often times they've lost the match before they've ever set foot in the ring, because they feel as though they are going on a suicide mission with their chances at victory being near futile. Also the little fact that his instincts and intellect are top notch, he's far more intelligent than many of you all seem to think he is. His ring generalship is immaculate and only truly brilliant fighters can control range and distance with the absolute ease with which GGG does.

He is as complete a fighter as you could possibly find in terms of an offense/defense combination and to the people on this site and many others who seem to think that Mayweather, Crawford, Lara so on and so forth would box his ears off, well I'm sorry to inform you, but you might be insane or at the very least you don't know **** about boxing, because they do not stand even a slightest of chances against him, he's far more skilled than any of them on every level, no matter what the fanboys may want to believe or try to convince themselves of, it's not a reality it's only in their dreams. He beat Canelo twice and got robbed twice, once on the front foot, fighting Canelo's fight and the second time on the back foot fighting more like Floyd. Now this was against a far more seasoned clen fueled combination punching beast Canelo with a far better motor, not even remotely as drained as green ass Drainelo. He struggled against Derevyanchenko, because it was like fighting a mirror image. Then there was Jacobs, who was massive, and constantly switching stances, also a pretty heavy handed knockout artist himself. Regardless, their styles aren't remotely similar to Floyd's, and he beat both of the far more convincingly than Floyd beat Castillo and as convincingly as Floyd beat Maidana and De La Hoya. Floyd doesn't have the power to dissuade GGG, even at 154, it would be a violent hard to watch assault in the ring, Floyd would pull a no mas in 5, if he even makes it that far. If not, he gets violently KO'd in 7. So you all really need to stop smoking what you're smoking, because it's clearly affecting your reason, logic and ability to think clearly. In short, the Floyd backers are delusional.

Danny Jacobs IMO is one of the most underrated US fighters in recent times. If he never got cancer he quite possibly would have been an ATG.

He calls GGG basic despite being an Olympic medal winner and a former lineal middleweight champion, he calls Tim Tszyu basic despite being the best current fighter at 154 pounds in the world, he thinks Devin Haney is better 140 pounder than Kostya Tszyu was. There is a pretty basic pattern here LOL
