HBO doesn't work like that. I'm not saying a PPV a regular HBO WCB broadcast. HBO has a subscriber fanbase that they need to make happy. many of them won't be buying a $50 card involving Mosley. They need something to watch. What about the Mexicans?

So the only boxing on Mexican independance weekend is a card that cost $50 buck and is not headlined by a Mexican? I think that leaves room for another Broadcast.

It's a terrible idea to go head to head, no matter who you are cheering for. This kind of **** is what has hurt boxingh time and time again.

So, my answer, none. Why would one want HBO to counter anyway? Makes no sense? I fail to see how we are winners if they do that. :huh

And for the record, doesn't matter if we think Pac vs. Shane won't be competitive, it'll still get the casuals who know the names of Pac and Sugar Shane.

Nope. Becasue this has happened many times, and the result you describe don't happen.

**** the UFC, I've seen HBO counter a Cotto PPV the day before PR parade weekend. And Vice versa Arum put up his own major PPV against an HBO PPV. And were just talking about a regular HBO braodcast against a PPV. There is a audience for it being Mexican independence weekend and not everyone is happy with Pac's opponent.

All the boxing fans that buy HBO for boxing are going to be watching Pacquiao that night.

And what about the Mexicans? How large a percentage of their subscriber base do you really think that is for HBO?

    it's cause he's a *****.

but the question is quite interesting.

the thing is, Arum has Margo, Bam Bam Rios and Humberto Soto in his stable. He can counter the counter if he really wants.

Yeah maybe I'm living in dreamland but you would think if HBO were going to rival the Pac fight they would put something decent on because why waste the money if no one is going to watch.

True. I'm hoping for a very good undercard. Arum has the stable to do it.

From a business stand point b/c HBO has always offered boxing to it's subscribers during the Mexican holiday weekend. Why should they stop now? they have never let what Showtime is showing dictate what they are broadcasting.

When company's compete a lot of the time we get more for less.
