well Margo was ranked higher then Cotto when he was the WBO mando for MARGO..openly said " Im not ready, im still getting used to being back at 147" but then he goes and fights Vargas at 154..no title. no meaning ..

Now he is PW's mando..a win over him puts him at top 1 or 2 in the division. and instead of forcing the fight..he goes back to 154 for another meaningless fight at 154..

    im just confused...

There's nothing to be confused about. At the time when Shane was moving down he openly stated that he won't immediately jump down to 147 all the way from 160, if you remember he was having this slow come-back which resulted in two fights against Vargas as he was slowly moving down. Even after his victories there he openly stated that he STILL plans to move down to Welterweight where he believes he belongs. That was the plan back then as far as I remember and after his losses to Wright, it took him some time to adjust but that's ow it goes, he won't just boost down instantly like that, he said he wanted to take it slow while having some fights on his way down and he did just that.

His next fight might be meaningless but it makes perfect sense, the man is coming off a loss and wants a decent "Stay-active" type of fight next before going for a bigger fight and he already mentioned who he wants after his tune-up type of fight. Not really meaningless if you look at it the right way, don't forget that his original opponent was supposed to be Zab Judah and Judah pulling out is the reason he remained inactive far longer.

dude WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??

    he was NEVER AT 160...

he was at 154 Marquez, Dela and then TWICE againt Winky..

then he had TWO FIGHTS at 148....the WBO ranked him as #1 at WW under Margo..he was Margo's mando..he said he needed to get himself more comfortabel back at 147..only to GO BACK 154 TO FIGHT VARGAS TWICE..

what the heck are you even talking about Scar? do you follow Shanes Career at all?

he is now AGAIN ranked as the WBO#1 GUY under the champ, PW and he once AGAIn, instead of forcing his mando status is taking a meaning less fight at 154..

    geesh :deal

Wow....do you understand that sometimes in boxing, certain matchups can't be made because some of the fighters are already under contract to fight somebody else? Mosely was supposed to fight Judah back in late May...before the Margarito/Cotto fight even took place...and than signed the contract to fight Mayorga "as a busy opponent" before the Cotto fight as well. Its very simple man. No title shot was available for Mosely at the time, so he decided to take a busy fight against a guy who doesn't pose much of a threat, but will still make for an entertaining fight. Its not a bad move, and if Mosely is victorious which I'm sure he will, he'll probably fight Williams or one of the other title holders at 147 sometime next year. :patsch

You're right, Mosely never fought at 160 like DLH did, but scar was right about everything else.

That 160 part was a mistake, my apologies for it. Yeah I do follow Shane's career he's one of my all-time favorites and that was nothing but a mistake over there. Was referring to his campaign at 154 when he wasn't even supposed to go there after his losses to Winky. His movement down was already planned as I told you but he wanted to take it slow as far as I remember because that was his plan, he had a few tune-ups then the Vargas fight came up and he took them.

I told you that his fight is NOT meaningless, he was SUPPOSED to fight Zab Judah if you forgot, but Zab pulled out with an injury so he had to look for another replacement ASAP and Mayorga at 154 was the only option available. He is coming off a LOSS to Cotto in his last fight and is looking for a tune-up before he takes on a dangerous opponent. He already made it clear that Margarito is the one he's targeting after his fight, what is so difficult and complicated to understand?

Even if he calls out Margarito and drops his fight with Mayorga that fight WON'T happen. Arum has Margarito booked for a fight next with Cotto on the undercard and if both win they will rematch early next year. I don't understand why you're even starting this fiasco when you know the situations surrounding both Mosley and Margarito.

Whats the point to you're thread? I really don't get it. Mosely will fight anybody and I think he's proven that. If he wants to fight at 154 to make a payday good for him. Its not like he's campaigning again at 154, do you understand the concept of a busy fight? Is it that difficult to understand?:bart

So what if Shane is Paul Williams' mandatory?, Paul Williams is already booked to fight at Middleweight next.
