Again I agree. I'm going to bed, I'll leave you lot to delude yourselves about Tyson's motivation & reasons for wanting to do this & the effects it will have on our sport.
exactly. a fighter dying in the ring would get boxing lots of attention, but it wouldn't benefit the sport.
I won't belive me! this fight to me means nothing! My point is that it would mean alot to average Joe! I would be just excited to see would Mike take this fight seriously! I think Holy should be betting favorite!
what has it to do to with drugs? Any way there are many non boxing fans that still think Tyson is the champ... So that equals him to hopkins! (and I'm just talking about average not true boxing fans!
It wouldn't ruin boxing, It would either do really really good, or have no effect at all. Average joe's would go into this thinking that It was a big joke. And if it does end up like that then no one will care. But If its a really good fight, people would love it, and it would help boxing. I doubt it would ruin it....
I am also a Tyson nuthugger, but Im also realistic about Tysons future, something I wasnt back in June of 05 when McBride beat him. Tyson needs cash and so does Holyfield from what I heard, I guess the child support payments are pretty big. This fight would easily do well, I remember going to a local bar to watch the Mcbride fight and it was ****ing packed, I remember bars running ads in the paper saying " Tyson fight showing here, free wings when you pay a 10 dollar cover charge ", it really seemed when Tyson fought it was not just a fight, it was event everybody wanted to see. I hope Mike takes this fight serious and kicks some ass for his fans that stood by him during the good times and the bad, I know I have over the years.:good
It has nothing to do with drugs, it was just a play on words. The fact that many non boxing fans still think Tyson is the champ just affirms their status as non boxing fans and they could care less what condition the heavyweight division is in. And that in no way equals him to Hopkins because Hopkins IS a champ right now whether non boxing fans know it or not. Any boxing fan of any degree will continue to watch and support the sport whether Tyson vs. Holyfield 3 happens or not.
u clearly have limited boxing information! n yea it wud ruin it boxing got sent to the dark ages becuase sanctuning bodies made fights formoney ,this fight is all about money n tyson wud literally be hurt or injured his last win was in 2003 he got KO by williams n Mcbride! least in 2007 boxing regained sum pride when champions fought champions
As mediocre as he is now, a Tyson fight will sell and be a big event just on name alone...and if he was to fight Holyfield it would definately be a success because Holyfield is also very well known and they have that rivalry. That rivalry is probably the one that sticks out the most to laymans. Whenever Tyson discussion comes up, and I brought his name up the last day of this past semester at college, the whole ear biting thing with Evander came up and generally comes up. They haven't fought in about what, 10 years? Yet this is what people remember when it comes to both. Despite the huge fall from grace for both fighters, it would be good for the sport of boxing and Mike himself since he needs the cash. I don't think he should try to go after the title or anything, but he might as well train hard and cash out big in this fight. Then he can hopefully pay off his debts and "fade into bolivion" haha
Yeah, I thought he got 7 years probation. His ex wives and girlfriends came into to court and spoke well of him so he got off easy, he just cant mess up again or hes screwed.
