What was the better fight: EUBANK v BENN I or BENN v McCLELLAN?

Indeed they are very amiable with each other now. Did anyone see the tv program the two were in a few years back?? Think it was called Gladiators (not the ugly spandex wearing, drug induced bull**** version with John Fashanu and Ulrika ka ka ka).
They had to face off against each other in incredibly tough physical tasks over two days, they nearly came to blows a few times but by the end had gained a lot of respect for each other.

I have to go and see if I can find it now :hey

I have found out it was on 5 way in 1993!! Jeez time flies :D
I have emailed 5 customer services to ask if there are plans to rescreen it anytime.
Don't hold your breath guys ;)

I saw that Gladiators program, the funny thing was that Eubank prepared like he was having a laugh on a game show while Benn went into training like it was Eubank-Benn III.

Yeah Chris was taking it with a pinch of salt, which was pissing Benn off he wanted the best Eubank to compete against.

I voted for Eubank-Benn 1,everything thrown was with BAD intentions and Benn was just ground down by hard blows by the end.Really solid ,quality, punching by both.Eubanks granite chin prevailed .......

Benn-G-Man is indelible in my memory for being an ugly as hell brawl but brilliant and gripping also.
It was a lot wilder than Eubank-Benn

I haven't watched the fight again since first viewing it live, but Benn v G-man is the better of the two. If it hadn't been for the aftermath, this fight would one of those classics I would watch nearly every week. Such brutal intensity and what swings in fortune; superb battle.

You should watch it again. I reckon G Man would want to be known for what he was like as a fighter and not the man he is now.
Must have seen that fight 20 times, best fight i've seen bar none, certainly the most intense i've seen involving bigger men.

  6. It's a tough call between two great fights. I remember watching them both at the time, very memorable nights. I have both on dvd.

I much prefer to watch Benn v Eubank 1 as it's a very exciting all Brit fight with a great atmosphere. The post fight interview is fantastic with both fighters in a great deal of pain but begrudgingly giving a large amount of respect to each other.

Benn v McClellan is just a brutal war of attrition. It is hard to watch but I feel inclined to do so every now and again. Incredible fight.

On the whole, Eubank vs. Benn I

Benn vs. McClellan was a little overrated in that there were very long periods of messy fighting from both between the drama.
