It's well known he likes a drink too much hence his drink driving car crash and it's not normal for a fighter to go from 147 to 190 between fights. That's 43lbs! That's crazy, that's what Canelo walks around at.

But yes draining yourself down from too high a weight will eventually take a toll and he's been doing it for a long time. So what Spence did in preparation for Crawford was no different to what he had done many times before coming down from a much higher weight. Maybe it eventually caught up with him or maybe he was his usual self but this time in with by far the best fighter he's ever faced.

As far as I know he hasn’t been drinking since the car accident, I mean realistically he’s been saying since the Ugas fight that making 147 was getting hard and he was only making it 1 more time and that’s for the Crawford fight that’s part of why he sat out.. I think it comes down to weight for him probably should have moved up to 154 around the time of the Porter fight. As far as bud’s win I give him nothing but credit one of the best live showing I have seen

Yep don't think he's even as big as Felix Trinidad, who was always a big welterweight, 5'11.75", ran marathons between fights to help keep his weight down and he even failed to make weight first time vs Vargas at 154 which just goes to tell you that he was always a big light middleweight that boiled himself down to 147.

Spence in reality isn't that he's some massively huge fighter at the weight, it's that he does not adhere to the lifestyle he should between fights and balloons up in weight so making 147 is always a big ordeal for him.

Trinidad was fat at looked pudgy beyond 154. He ran marathons because he was fat.

Have always felt his best weightclass would be 147. He’ll be small at 154, even if it’s his more natural weightclass, guys come close or over 170lbs because of the long rehydration period.

160-168 is just Floyd talking to try to get Spence to fight Canelo before he retires. He wants to squeeze his last bit of potential money out of him.
