What went wrong exactly with Canelo's career post-Bivol?

So you had GGG getting a draw in the third. Yeah, that didn't happen. You claim injustice but then show your bias.

As long as they can say he got a win over a 36 year old Golovkin they are home free. The judges helped him over that hump, he got credit that belonged to Golovkin.
In both fights combined you can count on one hand how many of the ringside media gave it to Canelo. I think it was 2 for each fight at best. So i would say that speaks volumes.

I'm giving him a taste of his own medicine. The third fight was far closer than people are making it out to be though. The commentators were horribly biased. The trilogy fight was anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3 at worst, boxrec has it 8-4, i think 7-4-1 was reasonable, maybe 6-4-2. For Canelo. GGG had Canelo sweating bullets the last four rounds, and that's Golovkin playing it safe because he was retiring.

I would say Canelo was brought back to reality losing to Bivol. At least he isn't entertaining going up to cruiserweight anymore. He is now competing at a managable level, which is a good level for a champion. He is fighting some interesting contenders, nothing wrong with a champion doing that. Hagler did it and then fought some superstars from lighter divisions as well. I do think that Benevidez is somebody that he wishes would just go away already, he is a huge threat of another loss. He knows that once he signs that contract history can be changed forever. Without Benevidez he can continue to pick through legit Ring mag top 10 contenders and cruise into retirement. Berlanga is a good one because he is all dressed up for the Puerto Rican day perade prom, but he's not really the goods, at least not the goods to defeat Canelo. He has a chance to rise to the occasion and give Canelo a respectable fight. I think DAZN is the best promoter for Berlanga, they are a good fit.

Benevidez doesn't trade,I seen him face a very old gzovdyck, and he got outboxed and some say he even lost, canelo would do more then gzovdyck, benevidez is average , Chavez jr average, and Chavez jr was actually more skilled then him

You could make a case that he only lost 10.

There is no universe where Canelo beats Bivol.

I think he could beat Benevidex, though.

I think GGG took the third fight just for the $$$$$$$$$ He'd been robbed twice against Canelo remember. He just went through the motions & picked up a nice check. Actually had GGG gone for the win & believe he could have stopped Ginger. Look at the pair of them at the final bell GGG was smiling not even breathing that hard Ginger was exhausted lol
I bet he regrets not letting it all go in the championship rounds I think GGG would have got the hat trick over him

You honestly thing Canelo won either of the 3 fights easily? Pure codswallop If he'd tried GGG would have easily won all 3. I'll bet he whispered to Ginger "Thanks for the nice paycheck Ginger I didn't try to hurt you " LOL

GGG seemed really strong and sturdy, he also looked bigger than Canelo. Canelo looked very vulnerable in the last four rounds. I feel that if GGG really open up on him at certain points in the last four rounds, i mean step on the gas, he might have visibly hurt or dropped Canelo which would have left everybody with different memory of the fight and GGG might have pulled it out. Canelo was gassed and vulnerable. Canelo even commented, when asked, when did know that you weren't going to knock him out? Canelo said, oh, the first round, he's a strong fighter, yeah, he's a strong fighter.

The thing is he has faced Charlo but has told in the past that "Bud" would add nothing to his resume so idk, behavin' like Charlo and Berlanga would is bewilderin' and might be another duck.
Imo if I was in him I wouldjust accept both the Benavidez and Bud fights and if I lose I would blame it on being outta of prime, old or sum **** like that and then vanish with my highest payday money in my career ever, actin' like I passed the torch or sumthing (despite Bud being older than him lmao)
