what would be the real reason why Ward doesn't want move up @ 175 lbs ?

    175 is massively overrated, who do you have? Kovalev and Stevenson and one of them will win the fight that has been demanded by the WBC and that only leaves one of them for Ward and then you have Beterbiev but there is nothing else at current.

    The criticism of various fighters is hilarious...
    GGG is ducking Ward, even though he hasn't cleaned out 160 yet
    Ward, who cleaned out 168 A COUPLE YEARS AGO is NOT ducking Kovalev, Adonis or BHop though.

    Why would he move? He makes 168 comfortably and doesn't suffer during weight ins. Fighters mainly move up when their bodies are no longer capable of making the weight, or in very rare cases, when they feel they would do better in higher weight classes.

    Yeah but Floyd actually has moved up in weight. Ward could too if he is good enough.

    I think Ward is staying at 168 because 1. There are good, easy fights to be made there 2. There are good fights to be made with Alvarez, Cotto, and GGG coming up from 160, and 3. 175 is still shaking itself out and the champs will be there for him when he decides to go up.

    If he moved up today he's have Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal, and maybe Hopkins. Where would that leave him in 2-3 years? Stuck at 175 with nobody above or below him worth fighting.

    Floyd ruined legacy chasing for everyone. He showed that all you need to do is face a few dangerous opponents early, build a reputation as an undefeated boxing champ and then milk it for years on end fighting stiffs. The reason why Floyd moved was because he was growing up and couldn't make weight anymore. He even agreed to pay Marquez 600 grand just so he didn't have to cut 2 pounds from his 147 comfort zone.

    Ward's comfort zone is 168. He has no choice but to stay there, 175 is a big jump with some seriously heavy hitters there like Kovalev and Stevenson.
