i would say put boxing back on network tv on saturday afternoons. that's when i got hooked as a kid. right after watching my saturday morning cartoons....i was watching wide world of sports...or nbc...or cbs fights. those were the days.
Count another vote for a better heavyweight division. The phrase "heavyweight champion of the world" is ingrained in the casual fans mind. These huge slow lumbering fukks that occupy the division now aren't any fun to watch and they've caused a whole lot of fighters to become obsolete. The guys who are to big to fight cruiser weight and to small to compete with 6ft 6in 250 dudes. The very range that 90% of the greats hw's of the past fall into. A 6" 1" 225lb fighter is obsolete now. He has nowhere to compete.no one wants to see 2 massive slow bums stumble n lurch around the ring.
A friend of mine a high school coach decided to try an experiment with 50 or 60 kids teenagers mainly. He showed them all pictures of sports stars in street clothes. They all knew Ali, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen etc in fact they knew most of them all but one. Only 4 or 5 teenagers recognized Floyd Mayweather jr. In fact one kid said'"Isnt that the little man that tried to fight the Big Show on WWE"? My grandson called him the little dwarf lol Bottom line no one knows who Mayweather is outside of boxing circles No one cares
Wow teens these days are ignorant as hell. Whether you like boxing or not, you aught to know who Mayweather and Pacquiao are. That sounds a pretty ******ed bunch of teenagers lol
