Something like that is what i was thinking about as well. The thing is that not only did Wlad underestimate Sanders, he just didn't know how to act when hurt. He wasn't holding on, wasn't changing his plan, wasn't on his bicycle. What he did was return with his own right hand, which is an honorable response, but also stupid because that played right into Sanders' hands, who countered him in exactly the same way, knocking him down over and over... Right now, Wlad would very tentatively jab him to death for the first 5 rounds and back off from his occasional bullrushes, then open up more as Sanders starts to tire, and take him out late.
Corrie Sanders by knockout, fans seem to forget that Sanders boxed beautifully that fight, he just didn't get lucky with a punch, he was landing those left hands.
Wladimir IS in his prime. If they fought again when Sanders was in his prime, the result probably would have been the same. If today's Wlad fought prime Sanders, Sanders would probably get knocked out in the mid-to-late rounds.
No from what I remember, he got hit in the body, and suffered a broke rib. The broke rib hindered his breathing, so he could not continue the fight.......
I don't know man, Rahman beat him after basically going toe to toe with Sanders, and Rahman hasn't get the best of chins.
Guys, would you like to see a rematch? I mean right now? i personally would. Because I tthink that Sanders can still hit so it would be a dangerous fight for Wlad
Was Sanders ever a "real" pro? I think he was a police officer during the day wasn't he? I don't mean to disrespect him, I think he was one heck of a dangerous boxer. Just thinking out loud: What could this guy have reached with proper training, proper promotion and 100% dedication as a professional boxer without the pain trying to earn a living with a dayjob?
