I'm guessing by the tone that you're either very young or a relatively new boxing fan? Give it a few more years as you get into the sport a little deeper, as you start to appreciate the nuances and it matters more and more. Trust me you'll have a very different view. There's nothing more annoying then watching or discussing boxing with someone who knows very little about it IMO. I can't stand people talking and asking questions when i'm trying to watch a fight.

I am 23 and I would say I been a big Boxing fan since around the time of the Tyson v Lewis fight but like I said before I would rather watch Boxing with a load of people rather than with just a few.

I understand that mate, that was my idea of a good nights boxing when I was in my teens/ twenties.:good Now I like a bit of P&Q while I watch the boxing.

I nearly came to blows with a 'friend of a friend' a few years back. We were all set to watch Lewis-Holyfield I at his house and we'd all had a few beers. An ad for a Tom Cruise movie was on the TV and this guy said something like 'hard to believe Tom Cruise is 45 years old' and I replied 'that's 'cos he ain't, I was reading about him the other day and he's 36'. To cut a long story short we had to be seperated when this guy got all animated. A bit later the conversation got round to Lewis-Holyfield and this same guy said Lewis would 'definitely spark Holyfield in the first three rounds'. I told him he was talking rubbish and that Holyfield doesn't get sparked by anyone and certainly not within three rounds. Anyways, this turd starts going on about how Lewis KTFO Bruno and starts getting all worked up again, like every Lewis fight should be based on how he sees the Bruno fight. It ended up with my 5' 6" ass grappling his 6' ass to the floor and threatening to bite his ear off if he didn't behave. I'd love to say it was my superior wrestling skills that won the day, but he was **** drunk and still rambling on about Tom Cruise being 45 years old lol.

Needless to say, I wasn't invited to watch the boxing at his house again. . .

I know this is going to sound terribly eliteist, and I do apologise in advance...

But, I have the attitude that its not up to me to convert people and, if I'm being truely honest, I rarely chat about boxing to non-fans. Let people discover the sport themselves as those who are only paying attention because of the hype surrounding a particular fighter or fight aren't worth having anyway.

Had some drippy security-guard who said that he knew Danny Williams through his mosque and that Danny had told him that he'd never fight Amir Khan as they were both Muslims

Elitist fans of any sport annoy me more than general fans making ignorant comments. I like talking boxing with anyone, I just can't stand people who think they know best all the time. Getting drunk with your mates and watching sport is what it's meant to be all about, it's entertainment, ****ing enjoy it :)

I don't mind talking boxing with people who know nothing about the sport, that's fine, maybe I get them interested. What everyone seems to dislike is talking boxing with people who know nothing about the sport yet claim they do.

Eh, that's what England games are for and they just depress me more through out the night. That feeling only ever happens for a Hatton fight in boxing. :D
