The great Bobby Chacon was homeless a couple of years back and suffers from Pugilistica Dementia. I hope Bazooka is doing okay. Bobby Chacon will always be the Schoolboy to me with that big, engaging smile, pretty wife who used to cheer him on and tragically commited suicide in 1982 because she wanted him to retire. They should make a movie of his life. Bobby and Bazooka treated boxing fans to the fight of the year in 1982. I think that edged the amazing Pryor-Arguello classic.

The Bazooka-Chacon fight i think their 4th:huh Was my all time favorite up until seeing Barrera-Morales I live.

I use to see Bobby alot about 8 to 10 years ago he cleaned up after that and wasnt drinking and off the streets, last i heard some people helping him out and he was helping out at some gym with some homeless kids. Hope he is stil doing well he is definitely one of my top 5 fav fighteres,

Havent heard nothing on him last time i remember seeing him was when he was washed up and pulling Sharmba Mitchell shorts off in the ring:lol:

Did you see the Chacon-Boza Edwards fight in 1983 Anarci? That was back when tey used to put have fights on NBC sportsworld during either saturday or sunday afternoons. Bobby's was a big human interest story because of his wife's tragic suicide the year before. Chacon fought like a man possessed - he simply refused to lose. Boza Eawards was winning early and hurting Chacon but Chacon turned the tables and won.

This was the 1983 fight of the year! Second straight year Chacon got that honor.

Then Edwards-Limon was fight of the yrar. Three of the greatest warriors the division ever had.

Limon amazed and impressed me with his come from behind ko of Rolando Navarette years ago. Navarette, by the way, lives pretty much on the charity of Manny Pac.

And Limon against Choi. There was actually a Navarette rematch but I haven't ever seen it. Were you lucky enough?

Been trying to track it down...I believe RB has a copy, but haven't received a response to my email. Either way, anyone know about Limon these days?

To answer your question, I've heard both good and bad. I'd like to know with 100% conviction instead of 5th hand accounts.

Yes i remember that fight Bobby took a beating early on and was thinking they could stop the fight(today it would have been stopped) Chacon made a miraculous comeback and turned the tables on him. Chacon,Limon,Boza was a great rivalry also Navarette, and some Korean kid were in that mix too all of them fighting eachother in classic FOTY type fights.
