He gets a lot of stick on here but has anyone got an idea of why hes so inactive he last fought in January against Dave Howe, He was suppose to fight Hrgovic but pulled out on medical grounds?
Hard to say where he goes since he lost to Sexton , putting on an awful performance (dirty too). Maybe Lidl shelf stacking.
No one seems to know mate, I know he had problems getting his licence a couple of months ago due to a medical issue. He gets a lot of stick but had a very short amateur career and had trouble getting sparring being based so far north a lot of his career. Be a shame if hes finished as Scotland doesn't produce many heavyweights at all.
I get what your saying, but i don't think he wants to retire. It must be something to do with this medical issue. He would have got a good pay day for the hrgovic fight
He did get a bit of stick but at least he was followin his passion, i just checked his twitter and its not been updated since early august. Shame if a medical issue has retired him , hes on instagram but its private so cant view it, i dont have it either. And 31 , nearly 32 he could easily box for another 5 years or more and make a bit of dough and perhaps a domestic title.
Aye but you can also make decent money as a sparring partner, big heavies like Cornish are used by cruisers also, id rather be doing that than lying on a roof freezing in december banging in nails and looking forward to your bacon buttie at 10am !
yeah you're right perhaps. but it was a dirty performance against Sexton - constantly used the head . and i'm Scottish.
worst thing that happened to Cornish was his split from Billy Nelson 2 or so weeks before the fight. If he had Billy with him throughout he would have won that fight against Sexton.
Have seen that mentioned a few times. Guess we will never know as what happends in the gym should stay in the gym. Im hearing this morning hes retired.
