We had the two nights of boxing on itv, culminating in the Eubanks jnr PPV but whats happening now? You would of thought itv, if they were trying to bring boxing back onto their channel would at least be promoting some future dates and fights but weve heard nothing...well i havnt. Does anyone know if they have anything coming up or planned for the future? We were getting into some exciting times with boxing on tv. I havnt heard anything fron C5 either! BT Sports launch boxing on there channel next month and we have some good cards coming from them and BN/Queensbury in the next couple of months. Has anyone any updates from ITV or C5.
The first night was a sales night for the ppv. I suspect they will only have cards just before a ppv fight to drum up some awareness.
Spike have been showing the odd card here and there, they're linked in with Channel 5 I believe. I don't recall seeing the Spike shows being advertised though, so it is a case of checking the planner.
Yeah I luckily caught Josh Taylor on spike as another coach had put a status on Facebook. Looks like ITV have been Eubank-ed
Heard that the Eubanks approached ITV about airing Jr's first defence of his paper belt against John Ryder and the execs knocked it back.
The PPV done 50-60k, the main event was awful. To think Eubank didn't fight Jacobs, Saunders, GGG or Langford for that NONSENSE. Eubank is a joke and should be treated as one.
Not surprised. They were crazy to do the first PPV. How anyone @ ITV thought that was a good idea is beyond me. The Eubanks want to go alone but don't have the money to do so. It's time to swallow some pride go back to Hearn and just do what he says.
Eubank has very limited options now he is tied to itv. I don't see how he can fight against other promotions like matchroom.
Is he tied with ITV though? I haven't heard anything about him being tied to any contract. If Eubanks has got any savvy about him then he would tell his dad to take a back seat & sign with matchroom.
Kennedy/Simmons is upcoming on Channel 5, nothing coming on ITV though. It's worth noting that Lee Selby has left Matchroom and any fight between him and Frampton would logically take place on Channel 5 if the money was right. Rumours that Mick might have a TV deal announcement soon- which would probably be ITV.
