AJ hasn't fought since November 2014. He pulled out of the Jan 28 fight against Kevin Johnson with a minor injury and his April 4th fight is still TBA. Eddie losing the DeGale purse bid means the O2 April 25th show that AJ was meant to fight Kevin Johnson on might now be cancelled. I feel that AJ has lost the momentum he had built in 2014.
He's fighting in April twice. 4th and 25th. Newcastle and London, fast Eddie will still keep the London o2 on with Joshua and maybe Mitchell in a decent fight it will still sell a fair amount
What momentum? 10 fights, 10 cans, not one punch thrown at him and a good fart would have floored all his opponents.
Fights on the 4th and im sure with Selby, Joshua, Cleverly and other fights he still has a good enough card for the 25th
The problem is AJ is acting like he's ranked 7 without having actually fought anyone in the top 60 he seems to believe his own hype.
The negativity on these forums is mental. He's 24 years old world silver medalist(Arguably deserved gold) Olympic gold medalist(didn't deserve the gold but still did well) and now he's knocking people left right and centre in the pros. Is there any wonder he's confident? No champion ever won anything without huge amounts of self belief the best fighters tend to come across arrogant they are all the same.
