Golovkin would probably be a good option now. But I could see why Geale wanted to avoid him back when he had a title because if he had of got past Barker he likely would have got a crack at Martinez for a far bigger reward.

Very dangerous option and now Geale has no belt probably not profitable. If he wins it would be great but even me a Geale nuthugger think that's unlikely after watching GGG V Macklin and Geale v Barker. GGG will have more high profile, profitable options when he beats Stevens. Even if Stevens flukes a win there would probably be a rematch clause which GGG would win easily.

Ok, so Geale didn't flog Mundine in their last fight but Barker flogged Geale even though Geale dropped and almost stopped Barker??? I love your logic...

How much did Mundine make to not fight Mosley?

I think GGG would be the only bloke that would fight him, its a long shot but a shot none the less. If he could stay away from GGGs power he may have a chance, better than doing nothing because his other options are slim to none.

He made more than Geale did throwing his WBA belt in the bin to avoid Golovkin

At the end of the day Mundine could afford to have Geale clean his toilets

He didn't throw away his title, he lost it by going twelve rounds fighting to defend it. You're hero through his WBA title away to avoid Trout even though he called Trout out.
You're obviously impressed with how well Mundine has done out of the sport financially. But, he's never beaten a title-holder of one of the major organisations.
Maybe if Geale stopped letting his fists do the talking and called out Mayweather, insulted aussie sporting legends and praised Osama Bin Laden then maybe he'd be a more profitable athlete. But I personally hope he doesn't go down that road

He's talking about his WBA title that Gealey won off Sturm. Dan won it in September and had to defend it by Dec 31 2012. He gave up the belt for a $2mill pay day against Mundine rather than fight Golovkin by Dec 31 to keep his WBA strap for 1/4 of the money.

Fair enough. Well I personally think avoiding Golovkin when he had an easy win against Mundine for greater money was a smart choice. It meant he could easily keep the Martinez possibility alive. Why risk everything against a fighter like Golovkin when the rewards not nearly as big.

I actually have always supported Geale and Mundine but MidnightP has gotten under my skin.

Wouldn't he have lost the IBF title if he had fought Golovkin instead. Could be wrong but I remember something similar to this?

IBF would have granted an exception. When he fought for the WBA belt he knew what the conditions would be that come with it had he won, he failed to meet those obligations. imo, if he was as good as people made out he was, the money wasn't in fighting Mundine, the money was in a unification bout against Martinez which would have made him a super star in boxing had he been able to do this. History now dictates he made the right decision because lets face it, if he couldn't get past barker his chances against GGG were slim to none.

And the reason i want to see him fight GGG is to silence all those who claimed he would defeat GGG whilst doing hand stands lol

This talk of Barker flogging Geale is interesting... Split decision, and Barker got dropped. Barkers face was a mess, Geale didn't have a mark on him... This forum hasn't changed..

Both fighters faces were marked up.

  13. Two judges had either fighter the winner by a single point. Great fight. Very little between them.

Whether it was a flogging or not the fact is Geale was beaten by a C level fighter and once that happened all his little fan boys stopped posting here because they couldn't face the music

Geale fans on here were claiming he would easily beat Golovkin and that he would be the one to de throne Martinez  absolutely laughable :rofl

Geale fans will never admit it but he would get absolutely annihilated by a prime Mundine of 06/07 :deal
