I think as a general rule big time boxing has the worst coaching/training of just about any mainstream sport. In the major team sports the coaches work for the team and the team is run by very smart people who won’t tolerate shitty performance. The coaches also work themselves up the coaching ranks proving themselves at the lower levels and lower jobs before they ever get a shot at coaching big time athletes. Boxing however is full of snake oil salesmen and it always has been. Glorified conmen who latch on to a young fighter and ride his talent to the top rather than developing it.
You know I was disappointed with Allan Green's corner (without Jackson) the night he fought Miranda. They never told him to double jab or hook off his jab. (Something I was telling him through the tv). Lennox Lewis was saying the same thing I was thing while he was commentating.
