he did good against loma...i had him up after 8 rounds and i called the fight a draw...if he could have taken the last two rounds which he tried to do and which were close, he could have won the fight on the official cards. it was a very close, competitive fight. i think he needs to rebuild, but he's got all the natural ability to do it. btw, loma had like 300-400 hundred amateur fights and fought at the world amateur championship level for several years. and eastern european amateurs are basically the same as our american professionals, so GRJ was taking a big step up.
I like GRJ, but I knew he wouldn't be able to beat Loma. He surely can come back from this and if they pick the right opponents, who can give him a decent fight, he might pick up one of the belts later in his career. He's not done.
Loma Lost his second pro fight ,what happen he came back. The guy loses one fight and you get written off.Wow.
Lomaxhnko was a top of the range, next of his generation amatuer Russell simpler made it to world level in the amateurs and was good
He won a world championship medal when he was 17. Id say he had a pretty legit amateur career, considering how young he went pro.
He never won a world championship mate he only won a bronze , in what was a particularly weak division that year, two years later on home soil he got beaten comfortably by the Russian fighter, a good acheivment but nothing spectacular As I said he made it to world level in the amateurs and was good, but lots of fighters do that
I said "medallist" Joe. I never said he won it. Not many guys win world championship medals when they're 17
What are you on about? Tugstsogt Nyambayar won a silver medal at 17 and and Olympic silver medal already and had to beat way better fighters to get that medal but but his still just reached world level and been able to collect a few medal he hasn't separated himself, Russell is level below him When you in a very weak field it's easy to win medals
So naming one or maybe 2 other fellahs disproves me saying "Not many guys win world championship medals when they're 17"?? If you named liked 15 guys who did it, then I would agree with you. c'mon Joe, read what I actually said instead of what you want me to say.
I'm not wasting my time looking up this, I simply named one of the top of my head Do you call everyone joe or just people you like?
If you think guys winning world medals at 17 is common then good for you. Just the people who have previously been Joe on this site "mate" You comment on the exact same things and write the exact same way the whole time. You're not hard to spot.
It's not commen but if your in a very weak field and get an easy draw it's not that difficult , there's a reason he couldn't get past the second round two years later Iv been accused of being the same person as lencoreastside too I find it amusing that now supposed to be someone else too. Why can't these people post under there own account instead anyway ?
That speaks about yourself, not the fight. Russell won 3 rounds, and that was only because Loma was inactive in those same rounds, not because he managed to land anything clean or very significant on Vasyl. It was a clear, comfortable Loma victory.
