what's wrong with Mayweather fighting for money?

There is nothing wrong with fighting for money but there is something wrong with being classless and ridiculing every hard working person who doesn't have money! When he looks at the screen on 24/7 and says "All my **** is paid for, what about yours?" he is essentially insulting the majority of hard working boxing fans. There are so many athletes that make way more than Mayweather but they act as though they are used to it and do not try and rub in everyone's faces at every given opportunity.

 

PBF is an entertainer. He likes his fans but he loves his haters. he makes the most $$ off his haters.

 

Is it right to demand him to give a ****? Or is it a choice we should respect

 

boxing is a business every ****ing fighter fight for money and fame is not like they'll do it for free if they had to... the problem with mayweather is that he talks too much about money and if boxing if you want respect you need to fight the top fighters not talk about money all the time.. that's the same reason people hated the golden boy.. because he hand picked his opponents

De La Hoya fought a lot of good opposition. He was hated more so because people perceive him as being so phony.

 

Nothing is wrong with him fighting for money. Who wants to do a job without getting a fair wage? However, it gets on peoples tits that he goes on about being an entertainer, this massive draw etc etc and how great he is when only hardcore fans actually enjoy his style and he doesn't always fight the livest threats.

 

nothing wrong with that. but if you're going to say you fight for money and not for legacy and then if your body of work comes under criticism, you shouldn't whine about not getting the respect you want.

 

dlh hand picked his opponents he didnt give john john molina or felix trinidad a rematch cause he knows he got lucky in those fights and he also fought a lot of name boxers that were pass their primes... he was a great boxer dont get me wrong but his career was paved the right way because he was a money machine from the start.. he didnt have to earn anything the hard way like most boxers do

There wasn't much demand for a rematch with Molina, other than maybe from Harold Lederman. Trinidad got the decision over DLH, so if anything DLH was hurting himself more than Trinidad by not being able to come to terms for a rematch. DLH didn't get lucky there, he LOST the decision.

The criticism for him not granting rematches is more legit in the cases with Whitaker & Quartey.

DLH was unquestionably well-managed and promoted by Top Rank but he still fought a lot of quality opposition. He may have cherry-picked and fought some guys at opportune times here and there, but you can say that about many guys, especially if you want to nitpick. His resume is clearly one of the best among top fighters of this era. He fought Quartey, Trinidad, and Mosley (all undefeated, with the latter two being ranked in the Ring's top 5 p4p), in a 16 month period.

Fans hated him because of his perception of being a two-faced phony and for beating Chavez (mainly the Mexican ones).

 

they all fight for money. only one cries on world wide tv because the fans think he is boring. what you crying about, you got paid.

 

If he was all about the money he woulda signed to fight pac.

everyone fights for money. but the problem will be if he will use the split next time as another issue if he beats mosley. he would probabaly use the PPV number to justify a bigger split thus making a future fight with pacquiao harder to make.

If only Floyd fought the elite guys at WW, then he will not be criticized this much.

 

That what the split should always be based on is the PPV. Since the numbers say he's a bigger draw than PAC then he should get the lionshare of the money, it's that simple.
