I cannot believe so many people have Fury high up in their lists. When was the last time Fury beat an elite fighter who wasn't shot? Here are Fury's results since he got back from his first 'retirement', which happened about TEN years ago. Beat bum Seferi Beat bum Pianeta Drew Wilder (deserved to win this) Beat bum Schwarz Nearly lost to journeyman Wallin Beat past-it Wilder Beat past-it Wilder Beat past-it Whyte Beat gatekeeper Chisora Nearly lost to non-boxer Ngannou Lost to Usyk Lost to Usyk And people have this guy at #2 and #3? Seriously? My list is thus: 1. Usyk 2. Dubois 3. Parker 4. Kabayel 5. Fury 6. Joshua 7. Hrgovic 8. Zhang 9. Wardley 10. Chisora
1.usyk 2.Dubois 3.kabayel 4.parker 5.Bakole (I'm not having that fat mess of a performance he's way better than that) 6. Fury 7. Joshua 8. Hrgovic 9. Chisora 10. Wardley Itauma probably smokes most of the above but can't put him in based on potential.
Whatever your opinion is of Wilder and I happen to have a low opinion of him, you can’t say he was past it for the Fury rematch. Wilder was coming off back to back wins, over Brezeale KO1, and Ortiz KO7. Many experts picked him to win the rematch with Fury despite the gift draw in the first bout. Much of Fury’s reputation is based on the domination of his trilogy with Wilder. Particularly the second bout. If you don’t rate Wilder highly I don’t think you can consider Fury a great. I think Fury is a hall of fame fighter for dethroning Wlad and dominating the fun Wilder trilogy but short of an ATG.
Based on recent form and activity: 1. Usyk 2. Dubois 3. Parker 4. Kabayel 5. AJ 6. Hrgovic (if Fury wasn't actually retired i'd rank him here). 7. Zhang 8. Bakole 9. Chisora 10. Wardley
I don't rate Wilder, the most overrated HW of all time. Fury's wins over guy with far better records in Wlad, Whyte and Chisora x 3 are certainly more impressive.
Champ: Usyk Dubois Parker Kabayel Joshua Bakole Wardley Chisora Zhang Itauma Huni Not rating Fury as he is "retired" or Hrgovic as he might as well be retired.
C - Oleksandr Usyk 1. Jai Opetaia 2. Joseph Parker 3. Justis Huni 4. Teremoana Jr 5. Daniel Dubois 6. Anthony Joshua 7. Richard Torrez 8. Moses Itauma 9. Agit Kabayel 10. Filip Hrgovic 11. Bakhodir Jalolov 12. Big Bang Zhang
Usyk Dubois Kabayel Bakole Parker Hrgovic Joshua Itauma Okolie Wardley Parker said Bakole was hurting him before he managed to get the stoppage. Tiredness impacts punch resistance so clearly Bakole was out of it before the fight even started I won’t use it against him.
Do Bakole and Hrgovic have wins over the likes of Pulev, Wallin and Joyce, and controversial losses to Parker?
The top four are pretty clear as they have all had a good run of wins with the two champs at the top. Then Parker as he has beaten more proven opponents. From there its a bit more blurry, and I'm not rating inactive/retired fighters like Hrgovic and Fury. 1. Usyk 2. Dubois 3. Parker 4. Kabayel 5. Joshua 6. Ruiz 7. Chisora 8. Zhang 9. Bakole 10. Ajagba Probably the most controversial one there is Ruiz, but I reckon he still has 1 or 2 good performances in him to beat someone in the top 5. Also there is a couple others who could sneak into the top 10 like Wardley or Whyte, but I just haven't seen enough against that slightly higher level of competition to justify it.
Ranking how good you think someone is for the here and now shouldn’t be looking at sporadic results across a whole career. Wallin is useles for one and Joyce was no longer what he used to be. Hrgovic just by how competitive he was vs Dubois tells me how good he is. Chisora having wins over guys who weren’t hot at the time of him beating them won’t fool me.
