    I'm not real sure of the timeline then, but it could have had something to do with Murphy tko'ing Jake LaMotta.

    Murphy stopped LaMotta and Danny Nardico both before challenging Maxim for the title.

    No, as Marvelous as he was, Hagler was a terrible judge. I think the consensus is, a draw was fair. The Petronelli's told Hagler to take it easy late, and thus he blew it...

    Recently, Golata of all people, was backed to the degree of being a 5-2 favorite over the champion Brewster. And that was coming in off the Ruiz fight for recent form.
