People on here are building up Burns to be something he is not! Talk about who Mitchell has beat, who has Burns beat? Moses was a paper champion and his SFW defences were a joke. People say what about the Kats fights between them both but we all know styles make fights. Listen iv'e been following Mitchell since the amatures and I'm telling you....he will do a number on Ricky. The same rubbish was being said about Kevin before the Murray fight and we all know what happened there.

I dont see Burns stopping Mitchell. I see this fight being alot more different than the majority seem to view it.

Mitchell`s only loss seems to be brought up alot , but he was nowhere near his best that night. As for his fight with Murray, to me he broke Murray down slowly with a concrete jab and combos here and there and was subtlely more illussive than most seem to give him credit for. When a guy like Murray comes charging at you throwing everything with no regard for his own chin then its not so simple to get out of the way all the time and it aint gonna look good.
When Murray had Mitchell on the ropes two thirds of his combos were hitting air due to Mitchell`s upper body movement and Mitchells counters on the inside were effective. Murrays workrate was higher but it seemed based on "swing and hope for the best" Murray only had one plan and couldnt adapt.

As for the Lora fight, i give respect to Mitchell for respecting his opponent who seemed rough and tough and swang wildly, if that fight were a 12 rounder Mitchell would have had lora out of there, as with the Murray fight he was breaking lora down.
Lets not forget guys with Grit and heart can make even world champs look normal.

    Back to Burns-Mitchell

This fight will be a closer than most think, infact i think Burns will be the aggressor and Mitchell the counter aggressor. Burns will go out there with his Jab and it will be Mitchell trying to make Burns miss and counter.

Power : Mitchell just, Left hook and uppercuts, While Burns its his body punches(wish he`d steady his feet and aim higher with the venom he does with those body punches)
    Workrate : Burns
Defence :Burns has the better guard almost Michael Watson like, Upper body movement goes to Mitchell, footwork i cant split them.
Jab: Burns is more consistant while Mitchells is more solid(He needs to double it up against Burns)

To me Burns is World Class Mitchell Fringe World Class.

Burns jab is far superior whichever way you spin it. He gets full extension, its text book. Mitchell's isn't aesthetically pleasing, looks like he flicks a fair bit and it isn't consistent or a fight winner like Burns'

Also you're forgetting ring smarts. Very crucial, that was part of the reason Mitchell got smashed against Katsidias and Burns did not.

They will say Mitchell didn't train properly and was getting drunk in the weeks leading up to the fight.

I fancy Burns could beat him by decision, knock him out... no.

If Burns gets a little overrated, at least he performs at a consistent level. He's convincingly won all his fights since becoming a belt holder. Mitchell, however, seems to get a pass for everything.

But I look at it this way: he lost to Katsidis because the Aussie backed him up and had the power to hurt him and put him away. Mitchell beat Murray because, although Murray backed him up and laid a beating on him, he didn't have the power to do serious damage (even if he did hurt the Londoner a few times).

I didn't see any real improvement in terms of skills, etc. He's a fun fighter to watch, but I can't imaging just being mobile will be enough to remove Burns' own strengths.

Burns by way of mental breakdown. After 6 rounds of eating Burns jab Mitchell is led sobbing from the ring by Tibbs...he then falls back on his cor blimey costermongering skills to eke out a living

This is complete nonsense and a massive cop out. Mitchells best wins have both been against come on fighters in Murray and Johanneson....Kat was just way too strong and Mitchell was so limited he even made the Aussie clubber look slick. Burns handled him with absolute ease, not a mark on him.

Nobody picked Murray for the win

Well Mitchells smarts were all left outside the ring, no focus when the pressure built in that fight, but i get ya he should of held when hurt, shame as he outboxed katsidis for the first two rounds. Mitchells jab isnt aesthetically pleasing which is decieving but its effective in breaking opponents down due to the sting is delivers. Cant disagree on what you say about Burns Jab though.

Burns jab is out there and to be seen and is effective and wins fights scoring points, Mitchells also wins fight but in a different way by breaking opponents down slowly.

It only seems to be the London posters that seem to rate Mitchell at world level.

    Burns should win quite comfortably.

Murray will be on the undercard and he'll be next in line after 1 or 2 fights.

They tried to blind Katsidis with ridiculous lighting when he fought Burns, whereas Mitchell fought him in the dark and couldn't see the punches coming :bart
