Not wanting to be smug, I called it from day 1, that Burns would stop him.

He's just a better fighter, with the attributes to exploit Mitchell's weaknesses.

I cant believe how unprepared Mitchel was...he didnt even take a packed lunch.

In a rematch things would be completely different believe me.

All through the build up I never believed Burns would stop him, I changed my mind from mid way through the 3rd round, then I knew it was only a matter of time.

Burns was excellent tonight, I thought he lost the first but adapted to Mitchell and sussed him out in the second, he was bigger, stronger and beat Mitchell to the punch, Kev has got no excuses, he was outclassed.

That's the way I saw it, was surprised Ricky went head-hunting tonight but it was perfect.

    Good call BB :good

Good victory by Burns but really Ricky needs to face a well Prepared Mitchell to get my respect. Lest we forget that Mitchell has already been shown up/exposed already' and let's not pretend that Mitchell isn't world class and 'Burns needs to fight a world class fighter to prove his worth'.

Because that's Ricky's fault? He should get respect for his dedication to his job, he's a good ambassador for the sport. Mitchell has had chances and he hasn't taken them. He got a shot tonight and he was simply outclassed. Burns is the better fighter, simple!

I come back to my earlier post in this thread...

Was this a fight we really needed to see? Completely pointless mismatch, Kevin Mitchell has produced precisely nothing above domestic level and Burns at least has some solid wins at world level, even if against unspectacular opponents.
