Anyway I was just saying that Carls support has outgrown all local venues in the "wee north". He has the fans but not the venue. He has made no effort to market himself down south, where the bigger venues are. They can't go on building temporary stadiums for his fights forever. Not in the Irish weather. So that raises the interesting question: Where does he go from here?
It sounds like the Montreal fighters who continually fight in their own neck of the woods. They are big fish in a small pond.Fortunately they have the 20,000 seat Centre Bell Arena to fight in.Surely in Belfast they must have a sizeable indoor arena that can 18,000 or so-no?:huh
If i was Carl and Barry assuming they win on Saturday i'd take the Avolas fight to the O2 in Dublin. He has a bigger profile then you think and he could sell that out. That would build his profile down here and as has been said that's were the big stadium's are plus the biggest indoor venue is 5k more then Belfast. If he was to beat Avolas in Dublin i honestly can see him in a stadium down south next summer against a LSC or Quigg. I agree after Saturday they should look at really pushing him down South, he's fairly well known but not enough to sell a stadium.
