I didn't mention Margarito cause Margarito is 1 dimensional. Oscar ( in his prime), Forrest, Wright and yes even Williams are not 1 dimensional. You can bring all the crap about how Quintana easily beat Williams ( you're an idiot if you think that Quintana won it easily) but Williams i still thought didn't look like he was in good shape and didn't look like he train hard in which is why Quintana won it. But it's Williams fault for talking soo much about fighters ducking him like Mosley, Mayweather, Cotto ( Arum is the blame) instead of focusing on Quintana. But again if you want to say i'm making excuses is a bad one then there's should be no excuses of why Williams easily and i mean easily beat the man that beat Mosley twice in a row in Wright.

    Its not an excuse.
    Its a logical fact.
Winky Wright wasn't in his prime and hasn't fought in 2 years. What do you expect out of him? He's just a name, not the HOF fighter he was.

and people won't fight Williams because he his resume isn't up there yet. If he defeats Palvik, then guys like Mosley, Money, and Cotto will consider a title fight with him...

It doesn't make Williams a "threat", why can't you look at it another way?
You think guys were afraid of Williams when he got bullied by Quintana for 12 rounds? Nope. Williams has a lot of glaring weaknesses that does not make him dominant. His best defense is his chin, and he does not have KO power. The man's muscle endurance is unreal and could throw a million punches in a minute without any fatigue. Thats where he's dangerous. But when he's getting hit in the face like how Quintana did it, Williams shells into ***** mode and his punch rate goes down a lot.

Guys like Mosley, Cotto and especially MAYWEATHER can really counter the hell out of Williams and do worse than Quintana did.

You about to go on 10,000 post.
You have no shame, find a new hobby.

But honestly, Williams is very GOOD, a B- level fighter with a unique style.
If he defeats Palvik, I'm joining the hype.
But I can't see him doing it.
I don't even like Palvik either, I thought his hype was worse than Williams.

I just feel bad for Mosley, Cotto, and Mayweather who are becoming underrated in the forum, people are forgetting how good these guys are...

It won't end but it will die down considerably when Pavlik K.O.'s him
(And it will be a double sword, If Pav does not dispose of Williams it's goodbye Pavlik)

Hyland;4987509 = Its not an excuse.
    Its a logical fact.

^^^^It's an excuse point blank. De la hoya, Trinidad, Kostya, Holyfield have come back from 2 year layoffs and won their fights in which all 4 were past their primes.

Winky Wright wasn't in his prime and hasn't fought in 2 years. What do you expect out of him? He's just a name, not the HOF fighter he was.

^^^I agree Wright is not in his prime but he surely ain't shot. Just cause he was out in a 2 year layoff don't mean he's shot. Great fighters like Trinidad, Kostya, Holyfield, De la hoya have come back from a 2 year layoff with great wins. If those 4 could do it then a great fighter like Wright could do it too. Don't forgot Trinidad, De la hoya, Kostya, Hoilyfield just like Wright were not in their primes after a 2 year layoffs.

and people won't fight Williams because he his resume isn't up there yet. If he defeats Palvik, then guys like Mosley, Money, and Cotto will consider a title fight with him...

^^^It's bs cause Clottey don't have a real good resumes but yet he already got big fights with Cotto and maybe against Mosley. How is Clottey got big fights and not Williams? So pal don't give me "resumes" bs.

It doesn't make Williams a "threat", why can't you look at it another way?

It makes Williams a threat. When Williams beat Margarito, Arum already said "Williams didn't beat Margarito so he ain't fighting Cotto. That will not happen." <<<<Yea that sounds like a threat to me. Goosen offer Margarito 4 million dollars in which it would be Margarito biggest pay day but Margarito chicken his way out and decide to fight Mosley for 2.5 million.

Guys like Mosley, Cotto and especially MAYWEATHER can really counter the hell out of Williams and do worse than Quintana did.

^^^Ask me this questions are Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather southpaws?? Do you honestly think Williams will be out of shape against these 4 fighters the way he was with Quintana in the first fight????

Ray, not every boxer is the same. Williams has no shot against a prime Wright.

Clottely is a very tough challenger and always fights a quality match.
IMO, Clottely's loss against Cotto was impressive than any of William's victories. Clottely is a guy people DODGE in the welterweight division, he has all the tools to be a champion.

How does he have no shot when he practically won every round against Wright in their bout? Sure, Winky was coming off of an inactivity period of almost 2 years, but he fought at a comfortable weight, unlike the weight he fought Hopkins at.

    And Paul thoughrouly dominated him.
To give him anything but a fair shot is uncalled for, end of.

Clottey does not have anywhere near the activity to actually beat Paul Williams in my book, he'd just get outpointed, outmaneuvered and most likely outboxed.

If anyone should hold the mantle of being ducked at welterweight, it's Paul Williams. Neither Margarito, nor Shane Mosley wanted a part of him, Margarito would not rematch him and Williams was the one asking for it, how about that ****...

:rofl why does a fighter people get excited about have to be unstoppable? Isnt it possible to just appreciate an assertive style set?

When boxing gets criticised these days for not enough action or mismatches you would rather poeple get mad at the guy for losing a close fight??? REALLY??!!? The guy throws a hell of alot of punches , and his offense is his defense mostly so his fights have excitement. THIS is what boxing needs. Not guys throwing a few jabs and crosses afraid of getting ko'd.

Wialliams wasnt dominated in that fight and Quintana had a hard time keeping his enrgy up in that fight. Quinatana over achieved and Williams under achieved that night and it was a decison win.

Paul Williams is the real deal he's the only fighter 154 and down that I would give a great chance of beating PBF. The guy is willing to fight all comers and is great for the sport. Why would anyone wnat this hype to end?

I guess a Palvik win will shut down the hype.

I also guess fans going to keep up this imaginary nightmare welterweights have of Paul 6"3 147 lbs Williams.

    You are obviously a hater.

I don't see "all the hype" for Williams. He's little as the #1 little middle weight and 14th on the P4P list on Boxrec. Doesn't that deserve some hype?

Williams is a good fighter. He's entertaining to watch. He isn't touted as the best boxer ever by almost anyone. We'd love to see him fight some bigger names and I think that he'd like to.

    Williams is a beast.

Name me one guy from 147-154 that could have jumped to 160 and shut out the Winky that Williams faced?
