    Muhammad Ali. My father had many posters and footage of him. Still think the same to this day, but not so unanimously

    I saw Ali beat Foreman on closed circut. I thought Ali won the whole fight, Foreman looked really clumsy and oafish to my very young mind.

    I knew Ali was the man.

    Ali, still my favorite fighter and the GOAT.
    I always liked guys like Floyd Patterson and Hagler too, and even Marciano.

    I grew up in the Bronx in the 50's in an Italian American household so OBVIOUSLY Rocky Marciano was God along with Jake LaMotta. Also Babe Ruth and Micky Mantle because OBVIOUSLY we were Yankee fans.

    It's actually called "Victory Over Myself" for those who might be searching for it. I read it as a kid. Wish I'd kept my copy. Looks like it's out of print and used copies are pretty pricey on Amazon.
