    Undefeated M-1 Heavyweight champion

Looks a bit shaky letting the Grishin pound him early but shows good endurance to be able to choke a tired Grishin at the end. Could he make a dent in the UFC heavyweight picture?

He showed good endurance in a 3 minute fight?

The combined record of the last 5 guys he fought is something like 20-15

He looked alright, and I suppose fresh blood is always good in such a weak division.

I mean by endurance that he endured the pounding by Grishin. That takedown was fierce

  4. Actually pretty good. His standup definitely needs allot of improvement just as Cain's ground game/submission game needs improvement. Guram like Cain went to his strong suit.

Going for the foot, chokes, his escapes, and also shows amazing flexibility for a HW his size.

You do know that allot of these European fighters have a better record than what is shown right? many of these guys wont have their fights in lesser promotions included. Because of this its very difficult to compare them on a one on one basis with North American fighters who normally have the complete list and not just those fights within Strikeforce/UFC.

Would you say he is the top M-1 prospect?

That wasn't directed at you. That was directed at the other muppet who thinks this guys previous fights have gravitas because they happened in Europe.

I had a quick look at the last few guys he fought, and from memory the biggest name on any of those records was a loss to Shane del Rosario.

That video you posted was a good fight, but whether or not this guy can make an impact in the UFC/Strikeforce I don't know. Who knows, he might come in and smash it up and be the next Vovchanchyn or Fedor, but he's done nothing yet to show that he can.

That was Grishin who lost to Rosario. Gugenshvili is undefeated. 10 of 11 wins by submission. But they were not against known fighters. That is why I posted this, to get an opinion of him. You did better posting yours rather than attacking his.

  11. Nope, theres allot of other fighters coming out from the woodworks though, who knows how long he will keep that belt. Guram though has a very deadly ground game, deadlier than Brock, Cain, and JDS.

Hes shown to be far more skilled in submission and on the ground than UFC's top 3 HW. Brock and his ilk only knows ground and pound.

The guy that beat JDS even lost a fight in M1 against some unknown asian dude. JDS is regarded as having a top standup, but he couldnt finish or do anywhere near what Hae Joon Yang did to Ferreira.

  12. Kenny really didnt have anything for Guram did he? Guram was slapping on submission attempts left right and center. Guram does remind me a bit of Fedor in his younger days, both werent scared to go to ground, both not scared to give up top position so they could attempt a submission move. Kenny havent even lost to anyone through submission so it not like anyone can just tool him on the ground.

He's got raw power on the ground, but I would like to see him against someone with better GnP because he seems to have a tendency to give that up occasionally.

My opinion is the first reply in this thread. I was responding to the other guys remarks about european fighters having better records than their actual records indicate (?) as if that has any impact on what I initially said.
