At this point, Mister Gee, Sonny still ranks very slightly ahead of Wlad on both counts.

I'm a massive fan of Sonny but ranking him ahead of Wlad at this point is lunacy. Even if he was superior h2h, which is doubtful, his resume is severely weaker.

Well, I'm a big fan of Wlad, but Sonny has the better wins IMO, at this stage. Wlad's obviously had a better HW championship career than Sonny, but Sonny didn't get his shot till well on, and has overall IMO, the better set of wins.
Guys like Cleveland Williams (twice), Zora Foley, Eddie Machen, Floyd Patterson (twice).

Wlad's unavenged losses also factor in.

It's getting very close, though and if Wlad goes a bit longer and keeps whamming, he'll probably pass Sonny.

And some, like yourself, already have him there.

    My top ten:

    Ali
    Louis
    Lewis/Foreman
    Marciano/Holmes
    Frazier/Tyson/Liston
    Wlad

    Same here.

    I have Larry 5 or 6 all-time as a HW boxer.

And NUMBER ONE all-time as a whining chip-on-the-shoulder Kunt !

Largely because of corruption. He undoubtedly took a dive in the second fight against Ali because his family was being threatened by scum from the nation of Islam.

Dive or not he was never going to beat Ali.

Maybe, maybe not. No way of knowing. Neither fight was exactly decisive.

I agree that the first fight was relatively close but only the result matters, which is Sonny quitting. Sonny was a little past it. Ali was a little green. It evens out.

He quit because of a shoulder injury. Its like saying Vitali's loss to Chris Byrd was legit.

Seems like a pretty outlandish statement. Wladimir is too gun-shy to knock out a man of Listons caliber. He'd outbox him sure, but knockout? He didn't even want to take chances against Haye.
