People need to stop comparing fighters from different generations directly.

Its about what they did in their era against comparable opposition.

Would you compare Babe Ruth and Alex Rodriguez directly?
Would you compare Brandon Jacobs and Jim Browne directly?

    Its ridiculous!

By that logic, either of the Klitschkos would have murdered Dempsey,Marciano and Louis!

    Doesnt make them greater ATGs!

That's why these lists are full of BS. You cannot even compare the eras. Babe Ruth competed in segregated league. Marciano effectively fought at today's cruiserweight. Cold War prevented eastern europeans from competing in other eras. These lists are nothing more than popularity contests. It always cracks me up when someone says 5'10" 180lb Marciano would have a slightest chance against 6'7" 250lb VK. It is like someone arguing that Pacman can beat Adamek if they meet in the ring.

I agree Joe Louis is the greatest HW of all time.. then you have to figure out where Lennox Lewis sits, I think Holyfield at #4 or 5 is a good place considering what he has been able to accomplish, Lennox just behind Holyfield and Tyson clearly behind the two of them.

You can say they're not top ten because of the era, but on their day they'd probably tear up that whole list.

Boxing don't work like that. I could rank Lewis/Tyson collectively as number one based on what they have achieved between them but only what they do seperately counts. Neither Klit has cleaned up the division, even when considering they haven't fought each other. What they have excelled at is covering up their losses and hugging their titles with bull**** contracts that guarantee you have to beat both brothers, with their very different styles, to hold on to any belt. They also get to pick opponents between them which gives them an obvious advantage when it comes to match-ups. If Corrie Sanders made a comeback, guess which brother he'd have to fight first? Why should the Klits be ranked on what they've achieved together when others have done far more on their own?

Back to the OP who is obviously a nut-hugger of the highest order, how can either Wlad or Vitali be higher than the likes of Lewis when a) neither avenged their losses, and b) the best result BETWEEN them was a loss to a fighter you ranked lower and who achieved far more against better opponents? Not forgetting that the current HW era is the crappiest in modern boxing history of course.

The Klits in the top 10-20. Hate to say it, but only Vitali has faced an ATG in Lewis and barely lost that one. Wlad didn't get his rematch on Sanders whether Vitali beat him or not Wlad should of taken a rematch with him. Vitali top 10-15, Wlad top 20. Heavyweights, that is.
