What's the weight issue you're speaking of?

I'd be shocked to see them enforce the rematch clause. I see Bute moving up to 175, taking an easy fight, and then the Pascal-Cloud winner this time next year.

Froch, who knows! A few fights out there for him, Stieglitz if he beats Abraham, Stevenson in Montreal?

:deal I agree with all of this and i think Froch/Kessler 2 will definitely be Froch's next fight.

I don't see why Bute and his team would want an immediate rematch. That would be career suicide, it's already in tatters. Good luck to him though because he seems a top bloke.

froch v kesller 2 , bute v sakio bika , whats everyones problem with bute all of sudden , he is a top class fighter and now he has one blemish on his record he has no punch resistance and is a bum . everyone neesds to lighten up and give the man some credit and stop being so critical . anything can happen in a fight , they could face each other another day and bute could dominate him.

I read here that Bute was 28 pounds or so up just a month ago and his team talked after the fight about moving up because of weight problems. Again, just all stuff I've read here tonight in these threads.

This got to be a problem with Pavlik. Training sessions were about losing weight, not as much fight related. Still, I didn't see Bute have that guant look I've seen in other fighters that were weight drained so it's all speculation.

Bute's career path is pretty limited now without that belt. They may feel the friendly confines of the Bell Center may be a good calculated risk and that they can do a better job preparing. Even Froch finally started a fight with his hands up instead of around his waist this time out. :D

Wasn't there a rematch clause for Canada should Bute lose? Let's see if those Canadian refs have any say in this.

To be honest I don't see this apparent speed that has been suddenly anointed on Froch; same lack of natural speedy speed as far as I can see. It'd be competitive.

bute should try to be a litle more defensive minded against quality hitter and should focus more on what he does best and that is put on combos. he should get an light puncher and fight abraham.

froch should take his time, make an floyd mayweather like 2 year vacation and than fight direll.

    anthony direll

If Bute doesn't take an immediate rematch,I suggest he stay away from anyone who can punch a little. He looked very weak chinned tonite.

chin wasnt thew problem. the problem was, you simply dont stand infront of a heavy puncher and let you punch 4-6 times in the face. he should ve moved away or done something, like at least moving his body, head. not standing there donin **** and gettin cloffed...

Personally id like to see him move up in weight, I thought both fighters looked a little thin tonight and I know a fight between him and Pascal at 175 should Pascal beat Tavoris Cloud would be huge in quebec and could possibly set up Froch - Pascal 2

Froch meanwhile seems to be set for a Kessler rematch, Kessler was in attendance tonight and praised carl before the fight as a great fighter, so him being there means that both parties are willing for a rematch

that leaves Ward with Dawson who would be coming down to 168, meaning he seems to be unwilling to make the move to 175 and to top it off Ward will have to look to fight whats left of the 168 division : Degale, Groves, Rodriguez, Dirrell bros, Oosthuzien etc.

Bute will go back to fighting bums in Canada until another big opportunity arises. Maybe Bute vs Pavlik early next year, I'd love to see that.

Froch should just dominate and defend his title for couple matches and then challenge Ward. The rematch with Bute will be good, a fight with Dirrell or Kid Chocolate would be good too.

It's really interesting. I would love to see the rematch obviously.

Holyfield/Tyson had a rematch even though it was one sided.
