I wouldn't say Floyd's chin is glass but it is far from being great. Somewhere in the 5-6 range. A dude with an iron chin doesn't get hurt by Corley. I also believe Mayweather is lucky (not the correct word, blessed probably being better) to have such superb defense, otherwise I'm sure he would have been stopped already.

Froch and Kessler has proven granite chins although especially Froch's chin has started to crack. About Mayweather getting stunned by Mosley, the last thing to go is power which Mosley still had plenty of at that time. Mayweather has a good chin he just doesen't have to show it very often

 

Floyd's got a very good chin. The more special quality to me is his inhuman fitness, which gives him exceptional recovery speed when he does get rocked.

Calzaghe was another recent example of this. He could take a shot, but his recovery was more special than his chin was, in no small part because of his extraordinary fitness.

 

He was badly hurt yes, by a shot he did not see when his chin was cold in the first rounds. But he survived it, wasn't hurt later in that fight and outclassed the past-prime Mosley. If he was only hurt one time his chin must have absorbed the other shots.

 

Fast recovery does not equate to an iron jaw. He got rocked very early from one punch from a very old, very shot Mosley.

He does not have great chin. That distinction is reserved for warriors like Provodnikov,Jones, or even Garcia who all took some hard shots(in 2013) and did not go down.
