Don't be ridiculous. He's a top 100 lock, I am just trying to discuss where he should realistically be placed as he stands now having not fought the best at 140-154 and nearing the end of his career.

Roy Jones certainly was. It's better to lose 8-4 to Jones than 8-4 to Castillo, although Floyd fans love to spin that Floyd won by 1 point and then dominated him in the rematch.:smoke

Okay, on a serious note now.

Tito wasn't a real elite at 160, but he proved that he was a legit top 3 in the division, vastly superior to say Ricky Hatton moving to 147, do you agree with this?

    #35

I have Jones at #22, Hopkins at #53 and Toney at between 105 and 115.

Mayweather's junior lightweight reign alone surpasses anything Hopkins has done before facing Trinidad. And I regard his win over De La Hoya as a much better victory than the one Hopkins has.

Basically there weren't any, the closest would have been Casamayor, which he didn't get to fight. No blame for his comp at 130 + 135, it's very good, but since he didn't really cement anything due to the status of those divisions, even proving that he's very good H2H by destroying most B's with no trouble, he should have taken it up a notch and sought to rectify that at 140+147, which has some more potent fighters around...

    Do you agree with this?

Casamayor+Cotto+Mosely+Tszyu per say would have been nice additions... just a general example and if he stayed undefeated(doubt it), then he'd deserve his top 30-40 ranking that he gets now.

If they couldn't happen, I don't blame him, but they didn't happen. So....

I also think he's proven vulnerable H2H outside of 130, I think he's the best 130 H2H ever, but 135-147 his H2H status drops immensely, can't jump him to the top 30 because of that alone. Not like you can Jones, who actually has a great resume also.

Are you ranking Mw's jr lightweight reign higher than Hopkins middle weight reign all time ?? Are you on crack ?? Lets not forget that Hopkins held that title for well over 10 yrs and was the unified champ at the later end of that reign !!:patsch

Off the top of my head: Robinson, Ray Leonard, Benny Leonard, Greb, Walker, Armstrong, Duran, Ali, Louis, Whitaker, Jofre, Charles, Moore, Canzoneri, Pep, etc...

Highly disagree mate, Hopkins MW run means a lot more. There was no god level fighter in Jones for Floyd at fight either coming from 126 or 130.

Does anybody count that win as impressive for Hopkins?

I don't think it's impressive for Floyd or Hopkins. Hopkins fought a better version, but was in a heavy advantage in size. Floyd fought an inactive, near-shot version, but was down in size and just cruised to a close victory.

Neither got an 'elite' victory there.

Mayweather's junior lightweight reign is EASILY better than than of Hopkins' before facing Tito. Sorry, but if you hold a belt for over 10 years and defend it against C+ fighters, that isn't impressive.
