If he can double that jab he can rise to the top again.

What a terribly stupid move that would be on Pavlik's part. Anyone with eyes can see Hopkins schools Pavlik 100/100 - he's got the book on Pavlik. He took him to school and Pavlik is still waiting for the bell to ring. Read my sig numb-nuts.

I pitched this one to BigBone. Switch the dates of the Hopkins/Martinez fights. He was in much better shape to face Hopkins when he faced Martinez.

Boxrec.com currently has him ranked #5 at SMW

It's just Box Rec, and their computer generated rankings. We had a thread about this. In reality you can't really rank a guy who hasn't fought in that division for over two years.

Not sure what you mean buy "in much better shape." On April 17th Zuniga, Miranda, Taylor, and Hopkins would have all knocked Kelly out.

If Kelly had fought at 170/175 we would have seen a much different Kelly.

So you're talking about fighting without the struggle to make weight; okay.

Pavlik chances at SMW are worse than MW. At LHW there are no big names apart from Dawson, who would probably KO Pavlik if they face each other.

Pavlik should stay at MW, maybe try to get a good but lesser fight, like Mora, Zbik, Mundine, Silvester, Chavez Jr. and then go back to the top circuit with bouts with PW or Sturm. Maybe a rematch with Martinez later.

I think a change of scenery and trainer could be benefitial now.

On the moring of the Martinez weigh in Pavlik ran 10 miles, did 8 miles on a stationary bike, and spent the early afternoon in the sauna. The notion that he should stay at 160 is absurd. Here's Pavlik at 180 pounds around the 1st of April.

Allow me to cling to the reports of him having "More pop than ever" when he showed up to start his last camp at 180. I think 'post staph infection' he is just not the same fighter at 160. He put on weight that wasn't going to come off.

That´s interesting idea. I doubt it would happen, but that woud be a brave act from camp Pavlik.
I don´t think BHop would fight him again, why should he?
How would you rate Pavlik chances this time around?
