Hasn’t fought since he upset Makubu 2 years ago and he was 39 then, does he have a fight scheduled or is he retired?
At the last WBC Convention, Jack was reinstated as the champion and will now face the mandatory called Ryan Rozicki sometime during the year. I presume it could happen in Saudi Arabia, since Jack has some sort of presence/influence there. Plus should he be victorious, he could face the two other champions in the division.
im all for jack as an opperator. at crusier he looked too chunky and sluggish but effective enough to wins rounds. but to be given a title. madness. madness. now?!?! and against rosicki
I'm not sure where he's at, but he's one of the weakest titleholders in the sport and I would like to see Opetaia crack him.
I haven’t heard from Badou Jack since he told Canelo to go fight Benevidez! Gotta give him his props for that!
He tried to go for the WBC Bridgerweight belt but got screwed over or something, I can´t remember the details. But his inactivity isn´t intentional. He also spent a lot of time waiting to be reinstated as WBC Cruiserweight champ.
i forgot to post but i had to slap the laptop down just typing it down. but the chips are down now for fighters and promoters after Pulev-Charr for wba title. at cruiser, it is a shocker. only 1 guy under 30 years old. over half have had titles. Firat Arslan is ranked 5th in 2 organisations....he is 54. you don't need to get into a run of form in you just have to keep the engine running long enough and afford to live off small show revenue ,which i think is why former titlists from one man show countries get a decent following in comparison. pulev brothers promoting that show for free on DAZN was a perfect example. they don't need to win big they just have to exist. sidenote: i have no problem with being older. "aGe NuMbEr BiG sO ThaT MeaN BoXeR nOT GoOOOd" we fight less, spar less and are much better for it. some fighters in their 40's look absolutely golden than their younger selfs. but this has bottleknecked to mid 20 year olds being out promoted from the picture...even with 4 titles. they have been taken hostage and leads to guys unable to scratch a living. the ORganisations were supposed to create flow and structure to our sport but this has led to crushed ,bogged down divisions all over the board. under the top 20 you are lost
I was a pretty big fan if his back in the day. One of the best body punchers over the last 20 years or so. Very underrated fighter that has one weird KO loss in his prime. Hopefully he gets a decent payday and gets out before he gets hurt.
No he doesn't. He got caught one time being over aggressive. It happens in boxing just like last month with Munguia. Jack has fought and beat some huge punchers in his career. Groves, Bute, Pascal and he should have beaten Adonis Stevenson who hits as hard as just about anyone at 175.
