Sadly, the last part of his career is going to be a circus the continuing Benn farce a fight no one really wants to see. He was brought on well when he was a younger fighter. Just fell short against Billy Joe, well beaten at Super Middle by GG but for some reason he's barely tested himself since and his performances have been odd. Could have Liam Williams blown away instead tried to box him? Embarrass him? and actually gave plenty of rounds away. Looks like he wants a celeb fight for the ££ rather than chasing his own world titles. Shame cause I think matched right and with a bit of luck he could have held one - even if only for a short spell.
He’s a great example of how to navigate this business. The guy has made more money than 99.9% of pros without really achieving anything much. He’ll sit out until someone pays him what he wants (and they will) because he doesn’t need the money and it would appear doesn’t care about belts. If you’re viewing it as a business and a job he’s hard to fault. In retirement he’ll be living in a house made of gold with all his faculties intact.
