This is a great deal for Whyte. If he doesn’t accept this he doesn’t want to fight. I think Fury will walk away if this doesn’t get made
Why should Whyte publically respond to the announcement, there is not even a date or venue formally agreed yet. Unless boxers trash talk on social media to entertain the masses then they are criticised, as a fan of boxing i like the boxers to talk with their fists, trash talk is best to stay in the school yard or uttered by punks on street corners in my opinion. As long as Whyte fulfils his contractual media obligations all is good. If indeed Whyte did pull out of the fight for any reason other than health issue, then yes i 100% agree he gotta earn his right to challenge all over again. Likewise if Fury decides to pull out of fight with "nah i aint gonna fight Whyte", then strip him of titles. Here is hoping neither of the two scenarios occur and we end up with a all Brit title fight, won fair and square with no controversy.
Because Whyte isn't usually short of a soundbite, doesn't normally observe etiquette, stand on ceremony or wait 'til the moment is apropos before flapping his gums and has built an image on unseemly utterances?
The arbitration hearing is in March. Nothing will happen before that. If the arbitrator changes the purse split, lets say to 65-35, then they have a new mess on their hands.
Sucks for him then. He has until 21st of february. If he doesn’t sign until then, he can kiss his title chances goodbye and continue to bellyache about being the most hard done by fighter in the history of the sport to the casuals while being known as nothing more than a pretender among diehards. And if Whyte doesn’t sign, he’ll already have lost his mandatory status by the time the arbitration is ruled. Which means he’ll have to take the WBC to court to be reinstrated as the mandatory before the arbitration ruling on the purse split is valid. Just sign the contract, get your title shot and be ****ing done with it.
Whyte has been granted what he sought, the opportunity to fight for the World Heavyweight title, so now it is time for training and preparation not talking. Whyte has a quite literally massive task before him in the form of the behemoth Fury, so it is time to stop the talk and now walk the walk......if he can.
