Rigo's defense is damn good and could be up there also when he retires. but for now hes only fought 13 fights and 1 good fighter really. Long way to go
If Foyd can box into his 50s like Bernard Hopkins, then I will rate him as one of the best. Hopkins has fought in as many title bouts (30+) as Mayweather has fought all together.
I don't have an issue with listing him top 5 skillet wise But where is his legacy fight where his defense shined? robinson and leonard are out of this discussion you've never seen greb fight marcaino....seriously? hopkins has been knocked dow and hit cleanly several times, sometimes in one fight pep and whitaker are the only legit threats you have mentioned for the number 1 spot, with benitez and locche rounding out the top 5
There doesnt need to be a defing fight where his defense was great. Anybody can have a fight where they were able to dodge a little bit more then usual or whatever. Its about consistency, and Mayweather has consistently made fighters look dumb, not land many ounches at all in fight, and contunies to not take any damage whats so ever even at 36. U know hes top 5, u cant name 5 better defensive fighters
A lot would say sweet pea in recent times. I would say so myself if not for one reason. Floyd most of the time is in a position to counter while defending. Sweet pea does a lot of upper body movement, but puts himself out of position to counter back instantly. because of that I would put Floyd ahead of him.
You're blaming him because his skillset pretty much cancels out a HOF's skillset, and reduces his ability to get off his punches effectively? I've heard it all.
