After his impressive and in some circles unexpected win over the European no. 4 Jimmy Colas on Saturday where does Yassine go from here. he is inelgible to fight for British or even European honours due to his nationality Where next?
jackson bonsu, bradley pryce, branco, khurtsidze, im thinking the older, chinnier, high ranking level fighter...like most people look for. but yeah some very bland and not perticularly correct fighters there
Does he have much of a support yet? Maybe his promoter would be best off trying to get imports over here for him to fight.
Not sure about Maree and i think the York Hall show was a sell out so he has a decent following if he can sell that out for each of his fights. My thoughts to get him a world ranking it may be worth getting a Ghanian over to fight for an intercontinental belt or the (WBC WBA WBO IBF) African belt
Maree still trains him I believe. He does have a good following, and it has to be said that Steve Goodwin is doing a damn good job with Yassine. No TV money, but Steve's getting in fighters that are a test for Yassine and moving him on at a fast pace. Thankfully someone has shown some belief in him, because his career could really have stagnated if he continued fighting on undercards against journeyman. I could see him fighting Lovemore N'dou next for the IBO welterweight title. Would still provide a test, but is at that stage where Yassine should be able to do a decent job in winning. Failing that, Vantage West's suggestions are good ones.
IBO title would be a good route and could undoubtedly lead to him being able to fight some more decent but maybe not great opposition.
Can Yas make Welter? Some decent fringe contender types would be alright. At LMW, Baysangurov (guy who avoided Jamie Moore) has won the IBO title, that would be a good fight but El Maachi would have to go over to Ukraine probably. A rematch with Bonsu like Vantage West says would be great, Bonsu is done now.
I think he can make welter he is ripped at LMW though. It wuld be good if he was able to do a Theophane go out to the states get on some friday fight nights as a gatekeeper type fighter. Could get a few decent wins
a bonsu match looks pretty good. the way bonsu has been hurt by guys with a fair or decent punch is shocking. bailey i think has only ever stopped a man with a left hook once in his life aswell. looks like he can do the buis on bonsu. or flournoy?......i know its not a step up but i think reversing you losses while they are available to you can always help
Needs to fight a name opponent, thats the only way you can get to the next level. Bradley Pryce is a start. Then go for an actual title that means something, If he beat the european number 4, then he must be close to a shot at the European title, which will get him automatically ranked with the WBC.
Bonsu has fallen out with his promotor since the Bailey loss, so he may be willing to take the fight. It's doable, and Jackson is still ranked at 10 by the IBF. Jackson was the first man to beat El Maachi back in '02, so there's that angle as well.:think
I thought he was working on gettin a British passport within the new few months due to the amount of time he has been a British residence, it was mentioned by Goodwin on another website. Apparenltly he is fighting in late March at the leisure centre in Brentwood.
A terrible shame, maybe he's gonna have to go the intercontinental route. He really does have the cards stacked against him, cant be easy to promote him, despite his flashy style.
