My estimation of Tyson has gone up quite a bit, especially when I apply the same criteria used in these parts to evaluate boxers born 1940 and before.

To be honest i havent budged much since coming on here 2 years ago... At least not ability wise,, resume wise, maybe a few others.

I use to think Aaron Pryor was a top 50 maybe ever 40 atg, but have come to realize i was also an impressionable young fan during Pryors heyday, and that his resume isnt all that great.... Great fighter? Yes most definitely ,but i admit i had overrated him.

But all this nonsense about Ricardo Lopez,Delahoya,Tyson and some other fighters?:nono Na im not budging ,maybe you guys will see the light.

Carlos Ortiz is someone i underrated a little, think i have him higher now.. Same with John Conteh.

@SEAMUS - Midget Lisp Mikey Tinfoil Tyson NEVER beat a ATG Heavy in their prime, was KTFO by a journeyman during his mythical PEAK, he never got off teh canvas to win, got gift decisions VS Tillis And Tucker, only had 2 title defenses as World Champ with a reign of 1 year, never came from behind on teh cards to win, And was a glass lungs frontrunner who only stopped 1 journeyman guy called Jose after Round 7.

    Foreman

RJJ (used to be my favourite fighter when i was a kid, but growing up and analysing his resume, i definitely overrated him)

Georges Carpentier definitely (though mainly because of Klompton)

Demsey is an up and down fighter to me. I still dont know exactly how good he was or wasnt. I would put Peter Jackson in a similar class.

I think that Sugar Ray Robinson's stock has gone down massively for me. But not necessarily because i think less of him, just that i think more of many others.

I also think there would be quite a few people whose opinion of Jimmy Braddock and Max Baer dropped quite a bit. Particularly those who joined around the release date of Cinderalla Man, the movie.

and two more i forgot. Larry Foley went up (well actually i had never hear of him) and Jem Mace went down.

My opinion of Dempsey has actually gone up since I joined this forum.
Ten, fifteen years ago I didn't realize how great Dempsey was. Same with Jim Jeffries .... I'd completely overlooked him until I started posting here, in the last 7 or 8 years.

I don't think any fighter's stock has actually gone DOWN since I posted here, but I guess it's all relative. Some go up more than others, thus surpass them and knock them down a peg or two.

RJJ , a lot of which relates to circumstance. He was the best when i started reading, now he has been koed by a number of fighters.

Joe Calzaghe. Like most, I was initially a little impressed/blinded by the zero. It's only since I've been here that I've looked into his resume more using boxrec, read some facts on the forums about him, and tracked down some of his early fights that I hadn't seen. That guy really did fight of the most insane dross imaginable between 1999 and 2005, and didn't look particularly special doing it either. Don't rate his career or ability as highly as I did before I came to this site.
