    Excellent point.

Foreman was deadly serious for Cooney, there were the left hooks as you said and the overall perils of letting a powerful guy like Gerry hang around for too long.

No time for George to be playful and cuddly - glimpses of the old, killer Foreman of the 70s.

George probably said 10 Hail Marys after the fight as penance for harbouring and then hitting with such bad intentions.

He probably should’ve also genuflected and crossed himself straight afterward, thanking the Lord that Gerry wasn’t dead.

His nick might’ve instantly changed from Big George to Killer Preacher - The Night of the Hunter. Lol.

I revisit the Arguello-Escalera fights pretty regularly but I think I’ve probably seen Hagler-Hearns the most of any fight, because of the first round and its overall brevity.

    I have two:
    Sanchez-Gomez and Gomez-Pintor

Before You Tube I had re-watched Sanchez-Gomez only on a small highlight reel i had on aVCR tape and never rewatched Gomez-Pintor..

After You Tube? hundreds of times each. They are both among my favorite fights.

In fact, many Puerto Ricans still butt-hurt about Sanchez-Gomez but not me, its one of my favorite fights of all time. Sanchez for his skill and Gomez for his courage.

(Sometimes I secretly hope that the video goes wrong and Gomez somehow wins it one time at least lmao!)

Either the FOTC or Leonard-Duran I--my two all-time favorite fights! (The FOTC for the incredible pace and Frazier's indomitable will to win and Leonard-Duran I for the fierce intensity and Duran's performance--which I really believe is the greatest I've seen since I began watching boxing as a youngster roughly around 1970.)

Michael Watson-Nigel Benn Truly classic English civil war with the undefeated puncher attacking relentlessly while Watson doing his version of Ali´s rope-a-dope before unleashing his own bombs. Brilliant from both.

It is one of those amazing things. Morrison was faster but he used up his gas tank and Mercer than came on. And with Mercer when he hurts a guy he keeps punching even when the guy is out cold falling.
