I said that Vitali had very good power himself. He carries a lot of power in those arm punches. Also, he is very accurate. Also, you have to realize that half of Wlad's fights that went to a decision happened when he wasn't fighting twelve rounders. Two of of his other decisions were stopped early due to headbutts. Wlad only has failed to knock out his opponent 6 times in his 52 wins. Only three of those fights went 12 rounds, and all three of them were against current or future Champions. Also, his level of opponents have been much higher than Vitali's.... coupled with the fact that Vitali has had many less fights. They both hit hard enough to knock anyone out... so it really is a non-issue. However, Wlad clearly hits harder between the two. I think that the man difference is that Wladimir does most of the leading in his fights, and his opponents are bracing for the shots that come at them. Vitali does a lot more counterpunching, and catches his opponents with shots that they aren't bracing for. Wlad's pure speed and explosiveness is what leads to his one punch knockouts. Even when his opponents are bracing for his shots, he can hook off the jab, or send a right hand behind a jab that his opponents never see coming.
Wladimir hit Purity and Peter with everything he had though before he gassed out / ran out of rounds and these are very sturdy guys. Vitali stopped both these guys ... they might have been on their feet but they were clearly on the way out and would have not lasted the distance. Which to me spells out that the effect Vitali has on the duration of the fight is more significant. You give a good explanation though, i just do not fully agree with it ... sorry.
Different fights, and different times. Puritty was actually stopped on a cut against Vitali towards the end of the fight. Peter was clearly a more fresh fighter when he fought Wlad, and was undefeated. It is a lot harder to give a guy his first defeat, than it is to beat him into another one. Wlad simply had a different gameplan against Peter. Wlad really didn't sit down on his punches in that fight. At that point... that fight was exactly what Wlad needed to get him up over the hump from his previous defeats. After that... he has continued to get better and better.
i remember awhile back wladimir was being hailed the better klit before he lost to sanders. i think he is better athletically and has better reflexes than vitali. vitali is more of a methodical seek and destroy and most of all more flat footed and stand up kind of guy, while wladimir is more mobile and throws more shots, being the more active fighter, probably the reason why supposedly wladimir would outbox vitali in sparring sessions. i personally think wladimir can still become better and he is gaining more confidence since his ko losses, but has to keep his defense and stamina in check constantly. at this point i have it about even
Vitilli unasailably, the guy hit's harder than anyone in the history of the division, also i would say he's more accurate..
from what i've seen Vitaly gets rid of people when he opens up, so for me he hits harder....it looks like fighters take Wlad's shots better than they take Vitaly's....
Along that same line of thought: Wlad hits harder. But Vitali can hit harder than Wlad. I don't believe I've ever seen Vitali commit more than around 60% to a shot.
