Right, I think it's safe to say that the fight we all want isn't going to happen this year so let's look forward to what's next for the Filipino phenom. To be fair to PBF, I can (to an extent) understand him not signing the fight given that Unca Rogah will probably be in the pen pretty soon as well, so I don't want to join the general forum in bashing promoters or fighters; it certainly looks like everyone did try and make the fight this time as concessions were made with percentage splits and the monotonous subject of blood testing.

So, rather frustratingly, the options are completely in-house and they are Margo or Cotto for a belt at 154 and an opportunity for Pac to extend his belt collection to eight in seperate weight classes. Which fight would you rather see out of these two? Do you want to see Margo get a hefty paycheque and a title shot after trying to cheat against Mosley (and possibly others)? Or would you rather see a rematch of what was a fairly one-sided fight after 3 competitive rounds against Cotto?

I know many people, like myself, want to see other fights, but this thread is entirely about which fight out of the two options being discussed would you rather see and why?

Out of both options, I'd rather see a Margo fight. I reckon it'll be competitive and it would also be interesting to see how Pac deals with someone the size Margo who wouldn't be a corpse like ODLH was.

    Thoughts?:thumbsup

Where is the "I don't give a flying ****" option?, because at this moment in time I really don't.

Why comment in the thread then, mate? I did say we'd all prefer other fights, but I am asking which fight out of either of the two would you rather see? Let's face it, we know we are getting one of them and there is nothing that any amount of moaning can be done about it.

Pacquiao has already convincingly beaten Cotto so personal feelings aside I'd prefer Margo. It could be FOTY easily. Could Pac stop Margo at 154 with the step up in weight plus Margo's granite chin? Could Margo get to Pac with relentless pressure?

If I had a gun to my head I'd say Margarito.... but to be honest I've lost patience with it (and the Haye vs Klitschko farce) and are more interested in the people that actually want to fight.

HBO should just say to them all - this fight or no TV money.... that would soon seal the deal :yep

    Margo, Cotto is pointless.

Rematches tend to occur for either because the first fight was close/ controversial, because it was especially entertaining or because the loser has done something to convince people he can win in the second fight. None of those things have happened with Cotto-Pac.

Cotto by default. Don't want to see Margorito get a big pay day and it gives our own Ryan Rhodes a better shot at a World Title.

If those are the only two options then I'd rather him take a Mayweatheresque break. Absolutely no point fighting Cotto again and Margarito would do well to land anything on Pacquaio. It would be annihilation.

    What about Mosley?

Margarito for two reasons. One I'm a massive Cotto fan and a second beating would be hard to watch. Secondly, I actually think Pacquiao v Margarito is a very, very intriguing fight. You could argue that Margarito is a better version of Clottey. Pacquiao's offensive skils will make him a hot favourite and rightly so.

It comes down to the argument that has been placed in Pacquiao's recent fights. Does he have the power to hurt Tony M? As the question was posed in his fights with DLH, Hatton, Clottey and Cotto. All answered with a yes.

Tony M's gameplan will be fascinating. Roach is gonna set traps. Pac will be a buzzsaw throughout. We need to se if the Mexican can get to Manny.

i'd lean towards margo but i wouldn't mind seeing him fight cotto at the higher weight to see if that makes a difference to cottos performance

Neither. I dont want to see my favourite ever fighter lose again. I think he'd perform better this time and have a better game plan, despite Pac's dominance there was still a few bits of lovely work from Cotto in that fight. But he'd get caught at some point and end up all over the place mentally.

I have no interest in the Margarito fight at all. He's made for Pacquiao and it'd just be like the Mosley fight, the lightning fast better boxer batters the slow plodder.

Woopsy-daisy, I voted for Cotto, because I thought this was just a poll about which fighter you prefer.

But actually I'd like em to for Margarito next. Would much prefer to see Pac puck the head off somebody new.

In MMA, if Cotto lost like he did he would have to have a couple of bouts to earn his comeback as Pac won convincingly.

I would like to see Pac vs Margo with Cotto in a good title defence on the undercard.

The people need to believe Cotto has improved technically and is better at 154 thus has more of a chance to beat Pac. Otherwise the fight is a joke.
