Which Option Do You Prefer: Margarito or Cotto?

Margarito because we've already seen him beat Cotto. Simple really. Not interested in the Margarito moralising to be honest.

 

You seem always to be angry. You know, if threads on this forum make you so unhappy, there are plenty of other things you could be doing with your time rather than venting your frustrations on threads you don't like and trying to belittle people.

 

Did Cotto look better in the Foreman fight or was it a case of a weaker opponent flattering him?

Or both?

Margarito vs Pacquiao would at least be an improvement on the Clottey fight, which was a farce in all honesty. When Clottey bothered to throw a punch he was effective, but preferred to just stand there and let Pacquiao tattoo him.

The phrase ''world class journeyman'' suits him down to the ground. His win over Judah was decent, he threw away the Cotto fight.... then the Pacquiao debacle.

Margarito's offense would certainly make this intriguing.... I wonder how much he likes it to the body higher up in weight - neither Hatton nor Cotto really tested him in that sense.

 

Why was the Clottey fight "a farce"? Clottey's performance was farcial, yes, but it's actually a decent win for Pac when you think where he was a couple of years ago. Not a great win but a decent win - nothing more nothing less. No one could have predicted Clottey wouldn't try.

 

Margarito, but I wanted Paul Williams to be the replacement. The **** Arum has flat out said no chance though.

 

This is actually a tough one. I'm a Cotto fan and I believe with Steward in the corner he can do much better, though his chances of actually winning i'm not so convinced on.

But on the other hand, Pac-Margo could well be an all out war.

I've edged with Margarito though because I would like to see Cotto in another defense or two before taking on such a momentous challenge again.

Personally though, dare I say it, I never cared much for Pac-Floyd, I just didn't see it being an entertaining affair. The only reason I wanted it to happen was so we could get another classic in Cotto-Margarito on the cards.

 

Wouldn't you rather see Paul Williams rematch Sergio Martinez for the middleweight title?

 

That would be a good fight too but being a pacfan I'd rather see Willams v Pac and then the winner of that fight taking on Martinez. Berto is another option I wouldn't mind seeing.

 

Why would anyone prefer to see him dominate Cotto again? At least Margarito is somebody else. It wouldn't be remotely competetive mind, Marg is FAR too slow to do anything and I don't particularly like 2nd chances for a cheater but if these are the choices....

 

Williams vs Martinez II is a fight that should be made without any undue delay.

Cintron wants rematches with both from what I understand..... even though he got knocked out in one of them and did a Klinsmann in the other :-(

I'd rather see Pacquiao take on one of the young bucks at 140 rather than recycling the same old names over and over - Bradley would be alright for Novemeber.

 

Berto's ****, would be a total mismatch. Bradley needs to fight Alexander. Pac-Williams at 147 would be a good action fight, I probably would prefer it to Margo.

 

After he stops ducking Devon Alexander he might just warrant hitting the lottery with a Pac beating.

 

Yeah, a super six style tournament at 140 with Bradley, Alexander, Khan, Ortiz, Maidana and someone else would really work. Otherwise I don't have much faith in these guys fighting each other. The super six is the best thing to happen to boxing in a long time. Can you imagine those fights being made otherwise? No way.

 

Yeah, he's a bit deluded as to what he's actually worth.... he hasn't really built on the win over Witter the way he might have.

Some of the fights at 140 need to be made, a four man tourney between Khan, Maidana, Bradley and Alexander would be preferable to what we've got now, with Maidana vs Corley, Alexander vs Kotelnik, Bradley up at 147 and Khan taking a break.

I just threw his name out there really, Margarito was battered by Mosley 18 months ago and was taken ten rounds by a pretty average opponent last time.... not sure he's worth a fight with Pacquiao either.

Marquez III?

 

HBO are pushing hard for Alexander-Bradley behind the scenes. I used to like Bradley but he's caught the Floyd bug and thinks he's bigger than he is. Same with Williams. Floyd's been bad for boxing in that respect, now all fighters think saying a fight "doesn't make financial sense" is an acceptable reason to dodge fighters. Khan's made a few noises to this effect too. Not good.
